service manuals and other goodies.

More than likely, a couple of the screws are going to be covered over with little rubber pieces or some kind of covering. You should be able to find your answer here.

Good Luck

I need to install more RAM in my computer. I have the RAM, I have no idea how to open this thing. Acer's tech support is abyssmal. They don't even know what I'm talking about. The user...

I have a all in one iMac. I was in the same boat as you. On mine there is a little door on the bottom of the unit with a little Philips screw holding it. Look for a small door about 3/4 length of a pen. It may say something about RAM on it. I did also do some googling and could'nt find anything. If there are no doors what so ever on the machine, then you would have to take it in and have somebody do it.

How do I remove a cd-rom from a hp dv5

1) Work on a table.

2) Remove ALL power to the laptop. AC adapter (Charger) and Battery.

3) Turn the laptop over Front facing you. There is one single Philips head screw to remove.
It's on the bottom of the laptop towards the Front, and is just past the Microphone, and Headphone jacks.

4) Screw removed use a paper clip to open the optical drive tray.
The paper clip is straightened out, then a third of it is bent into a handle to hang onto.

Looking at the optical drive with the laptop upside down, there is a small hole to the Left, on the optical drive tray. Insert the paper clip tool you just made into the hole.
This is a manual release to open the optical drive tray.

Hold onto the optical drive tray with your fingers, pull the optical drive out.

If you are going to replace the optical drive, be sure to remove the optical drive bracket from the back of the optical drive. (Two Philips screws) Install the bracket on the new optical drive.

I need to install hard drive but I cannot remove case etc. How do remove these drives.

Towers have a side panel that slips off. Remove the two screws and push the panel off. Sometimes you need to firmly push it off.

Inside you will find the disk drives which can be in a cage. Remove the screws holding the cage, remove the cables and the drive screws can now be removed.

I hope you are just installing a second drive otherwise, you won't have anything on the new disk.

I checked the HP site and they don't seem to have any specific instructions for this old model.

I don't get paid for advice so if this answers your problem, I would appreciate 4 thumbs.

How to remove the CD rom drive in a HP Pavalon slimline client?

See the panel on the side of the DVD Drive? remove that by lifting it backwards, it has a black button on top of it, remove it and now you have access to the screws on the side of the DVD drive, after unscrewing there's a button on the opposite side, push it sideways to unlock the drive and push the DVD drive out of the casing. Hope you figure it out.

How toeplace laptop screen on gateway mt 6821

I replaced the screen on my gateway laptop a couple of months ago.  I found a video on this by searching youtube.  It turns out that there is not a lot of difference between the insides of latops at similar price points, so even though I have a gateway and the instructions were for a dell I believe they were general enough that the biggest problem I encountered was the nearly stripped screws inside my laptop casing.  All in all, the replacement is not difficult (and I'm certainly no guru), but you will want a clear surface, a screw driver, and perhaps some tape (to hold the cords in place).

How to fit new dvd/rw drive into a Dell d600 laptop

First, you have to make sure that it is the same size drive and that it will fit into the laptop. Is the new drive a Dell also or another brand? Laptops are not hard to take apart - but there are a LOT of little screws. When you take apart a laptop, you should have paper, pen and tape handy. Draw a rough diagram of your laptop as you disassemble it and then tape the screws to the section that you have removed them from. Otherwise, when you reassemble it, you will have screws just sitting there, looking around, wondering where they should go!

Need to disassemble gateway 8708 laptop to replace the lcd panel

If u've never opened one before, it is very complicated, be very gentle.
Different size screws for areas of laptop. After screws removed, the keyboard and shield have to be removed to get to the screen connectors and hinge screws.
If u don't mind taking a chance in destroying ur laptop. try it and learn. The laptop is assembled in layers.
Be careful and good luck.
