Hi,

To answer this best I will need to know a little information if that is alright.

- First of all what is the Brand and model? The model number will be on the tag just inside the door

- Is this a problem that started all at once, gradually got worse or has happened since you bought the dishwasher?

- What type and how much detergent do you use? (Brand, powder or gel)

Sorry there are so many questions but I want to make sure I give you the answers you need for clean dishes in your dishwasher.

Thanks!

The model # of my Bosch dishwasher is SHU33H02UC/14.
The problem has been getting worse, over the course of a month.
I've taken apart the spray arms, and cleaned them, but this hasn't helped.
I use Cascade granular detergent; and always have.

    Hi,

Thank you very much for the details.

Since the problem has been getting worse for a while it could be due to an obstruction(s) or could be a weak pump on this model. Before we go as far as replacing parts I would suggest we try cleaning it out first.

Remove the microfilter from the bottom
of the dishwasher. It is located inside on the bottom near the front. Check it for obstructions and clean it if
necessary with water and a brush.

Next lift out the perforated metal floor grate of the dishwasher
and clean it as well, this can be a source of poor water intake for the dishwasher and the cause of poor cleaning, remove any foreign objects that might be under there.

If these steps fail to produce any better results the next step is to try a chemical cleaner that will work on anything further in the pump. The good ones are: Lemi Shine, Glisten, Rinse aid cleaner, Finish Dishwasher cleaner. You will run a cycle without dishes per the instructions on the label.

Let me know how this comes out.

Whirlpool dishwasher, quiet partner 1. Does not drain, does not finish wash cycle.

ensure your dishwasher pump and drain hose are unobstructed. If your machine does not drain it will not refill with fresh rinse water and since it can't do that the cycle will never finish.

Many people don't completely rinse off food stuffs from their dishware, expecting the dishwasher to take care of it. To be honest, a dishwasher is more of a fine cleaning and disinfecting device than a pot scrubber. Because of this, grease, food debris, etc can clog the pump or drain line over time. be sure to use a good de-greasing agent regularly once the flow of water has been cleared (don't wash your dishes with it however)

Most dishes in any dishwasher are still wet when cycle is finished. The heat built up in the dishes during the washing cycle is what causes the water to evaporate when the machine stops.
If you want to accelerate the evaporation, simply open the door very slightly so that as the hot air escapes it causes the dishes to dry quicker.

My dishwasher is about 4-1/2 years old. Lately I am getting a film on my dishes especially glasses. I use Finish rinse agent. Is there something I can do?

First perform a vinegar cycle wash in the dishwasher. Pour a cup of vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher. Keep the temperature at the highest setting possible and perform a wash cycle. Then start using a dishwasher most probably that would solve the problem. If this does not solve the problem then there must be some parts worn out or faulty creating the problem.

There are many probable causes of failure .

To clean the dishes the water temperature is essential. It the water is not hot then the dishes will not be cleaned properly. So check the water temperature.

Also check the filter in your dishwasher.Clean the filter if there is accumulation of debris in the filter.

If you are in an hard water zone , then try reducing the amount of detergent used and then try cleaning the dishes.

Dishes don't come out clean grit feel to them

Not knowing the make and model of your dishwasher makes it hard to be specific. But, depending on its age, your problem may be debris blocking both the holes in the wash arms and the filter that is beneath the lower wash arm.

Inspect the wash arm holes and get them all cleaned out.

Remove the screws that hold what ever filter assembly that lives beneath the lower wash arm. Use a flashlight to inspect the entire sump area, looking for debris. Inspect the impeller down there, making sure it can spin freely and is not damaged

Reassemble and test. Run a short cycle empty and wait for the dishwasher to fill and begin to wash. Open the door and pour in up to 2 cups of white vinegar. When the DW drains, inspect the inside and see if you want to add more vinegar the next cycle _after_ the washer refills and begins to wash or rinse.

Run a load of dirty dishes and check for cleaning improvement. If you still have problems, the wash pump/motor assembly will need to be replaced.

Good Luck!
