New Sony Brava KDL32EX713U. On first switching on no response from the screen. Is this likely to be repairable or is it a new unit?

Very likely the thermo sensor right above the bulb. If this EVER over heats you need to replace it (only $15)...You need to be able to locate it because it's very small but directly above the bulb housing itself :)

Please rate if this helped :)

How do I replace lamp in my Sony-KDF42WE655 model.

There are 2 thumb screws at each lower side. Fully loosen those thumb screws then pry the panel out. You will see the lamp covered by a plastic panel. You will see 4 screws covered by gray plastic. Remove the screws and you will see another thumb screw in it. Just loosen the thumb screw also then remove the covered plastic. You will now see the bulb. You need to remove the 2 screws then you can now remove the bulb. Just do backwards to put everything back again.

Tv nt coming on red light is on next to power light 50 inch lcd projection sony tv

hello. it sound's like you need to replace the lamp in your set. and here is how to do it the right way. rember to all ways unplug your set.. # 1 first. .Remove the outside lamp cover. The lamp cover is located on the right side of the Sony television. To remove the lamp cover, simply pull down. You will now have access to the lamp housing. # 2 Open the lamp housing door by turning the locking handle counterclockwise while pulling the door toward you # 3 Pull the lamp unit straight out of the television unit. Be sure not to touch the bulb, as it may still be hot. # 4 Slide the replacement bulb into the lamp housing. # 5 The lamp will slide securely into place.!!! "Do not" touch the new bulb as it will cause damage to the bulb and result in malfunction. # 6 Push the lamp door back into place. Turn the locking knob clockwise to secure the door in place.# 7 Slide the outside lamp housing cover back into place on the television.!!! plug your set back in to the wall & The television is now ready for use. thank you

I removed the housing and bulb and the bulb looks

Even though the bulb looks okay, it still might be bad. Chances are you need a new lamp. However there is a possibility that the issue is with the power supply for the lamp. But I would say spend the dough on a new lamp first.

Sony 42'' kdf42we655 no picture , lamp light flashing

If the lamp light is flashing, yes you need a new lamp. Be sure to buy an original Sony lamp as the replacement lamps are garbage and are not worth the discount. Please rate this solution. Thanks!
