Hard to say definitively without know the make and model of your particular chair but if your chair is anything like mine the same lever underneath it that makes the chair go up and down will also fix this: the lever can slide left and right as well as being flipped up and down. That's what always fixes it when it happens to my chair anyway.

Most Ford products are designed so the seat belt latch by the center console moves with the seat. The bottom of the latch rides on the seat rail, and with time sometimes it builds up a little play on the rail. As the seat moves forward or back, the seat belt guide often tilts forward or back, just a bit, on the rail, and gets stuck. So you can move forward or back just a bit, but then it jams and you can hear the motor, but can go no further.

The long term fix is to remove the seat, disassemble the seat belt guide and rail, and usually replace some parts.

But the short term solution is often to simply hold on to the seat belt latch and rock it forward and away from the seat as you try to go forward or back. Or, sometimes it works best to rock it backwards and away from the seat as you try to move forward or back. It all depends on which way it is binding.

There's no guarantee that it won't jam again if you move it all the way back or forward, but once you find the right position to hold the seat latch in while moving the seat, you should be able to re-adjust it where you need it to be.

Check fuse in controller. Check connectors, check the charger to make sure it is putting out 26 to 29 volts. If not check the fuse in the charger. Are the batteries any good? Is the parking brake stuck? Have someone try push the chair backwards initially, then try forward. There may also be inline fuses to the motors, those shoudl be checked for continuity.

If still nothing, try a swapping the controller with a known good one.

Hi,

Try this quick repair and see if this fixes your Dyson in terms of not going in the upright position: This is a frequent problem that we see come in on Dysons. If this doesn't fix it, please feel free to just use the clarification request and let me know this didn't fix it.

Step 1.
Turn power off and unplug the machine.
Tilt the machine backward to a 45° angle.

Step 2.
  • Hold the section under the airway inspection pipe.
  • The black forward lock button must be held down simultaneously, otherwise the valve carriage will not move.
  • Pivot this section upwards until it clicks into place.
  • Release the black button once the valve pipe carriage is moved up into place.

If this doesn't fix it, please feel free to just use the clarification request and let me know this didn't fix it. The suction problem is happening because when the machine is put in the upright position it diverts the suction from the floor to the hose automatically, and it's probably stuck in between the lower part and the hose part.

    Step 1.
Turn power off and unplug the machine.
Tilt the machine backward to a 45° angle.

    Step 2.

'96 monte carlo autoseat wotn move forward or backward

Individual motors for horizontal and vertical movement. Try moving seat while looking under at motors. Once you find the one that is not moving, try holding switch to foreward position and tap on motor with a screwdriver handle. This may get it going long enough to move so you can reach the pedals easier.

You can move the drivers seat back by turning on the power, getting in the seat and position your feet firmly on the fron flor with your back firmly against he seatback, and then engage the switch pushing back - while pushing like hell with your feet. You can actually hear the seat drive shaft turning while the seat moves back. The principle should be the same for moving forward, but pressure would have to be aplide to the back of the seat.
