The gas sitting in the carb is "still" 2-stroke...there's a bolt on the bottom of the carb...DON"T remove it, just loosen it til the gas leaks out (about 30 seconds or so)...that is letting the 2-stroke gas out and letting in the right gas...make sure the bolt is snug..NOT TIGHT...and giver a few pulls...no choking is needed since it's already flooded from pulling on it...it'll smoke a bit and run a little rough, until it burns the oil mix residue out of the muffler...Now get a Sharpie & mark the cans... 8^)

22' snapper walk behind mowewont start .cleaned spark plug and still wont start .swapped spark plugs from another mower that does work and the other mower starts with the snapper mower's spark plug .

You need several things for a running internal combustion engine:
  • Air
  • Spark (to start)
  • Fuel
  • Compression
  • Lubrication
  • Exhaust.
You've shown that you have a workable spark plug so far. Going from the above, consider as well
  • Fuel. Bad / old / contaminated fuel. Clogged fuel filter. If it's a motor that needs gas/oil mix, does your gas have the right oil mix?
  • Air: Dirty, clogged air filter or air inlet.
  • Spark. Is any electricity making it to that proven-workable spark plug?
  • Compression. For this one, the most likely problem (other than a toss-the-engine thing like a broken piston) would be if the spark plug is not tightened into the mount hole, allowing the air to leak out rather than compress.
  • Exhaust. Most lawn mowers will have a spark arrestor on the exhaust to make sure you don't set a dry yard on fire with your exhaust. It's often overlooked in diagnosing two-stroke engines. Make sure it's not clogged or blocked.
  • Lubrication. Is there oil of the right type, and up to a proper level on the dipstick. No oil equals way too much friction in the engine.
Good Luck!

Ive replaced my transmission on my walk behind lawn mower it was almost upside down for 2 days ive replaced the gas and oil but it wont start

The gas and oil weren't in the mower when it was upside down were they?

If that's not the issue, then the problem could lie in the fact that neither tank was fully drained before being put upside down. What happens is that the oil and fuel mix and will drain into the wrong area.

My best suggestion would be to leave the mower upright for a few days before trying to start it If need be, drain the oil and gas and let both tanks dry out completely before refilling.

Clean the spark plug and change the filter.

If none of these ideas work, then you will need to take your mower in to be serviced.

Runs 5 to 10 minutes and the engine starts rolling like it is staving for fuel new plug, fuel filter clened carbuertor I opened the fuel line at the filter drained fuel it ran good then did the same thing

Check the fuel cap vent. If it is clogged no air can get in the fuel tank to replace the fuel being used eventually forming a vacuum in the tank and no more fuel flowing out.

Lawn Tractor won't start after wrong fuel used, drained, etc

Check the fuel shutoff solenoid (on the bottom of the carburetor -- has a wrie plugged onto it) -- it may be sticking.

Spray carburetor with carb cleaner. Then if you can get it to run long enough to do any good, put carb cleaner in the fuel -- follow mixing proportions on the label.

If this doesn't work, need to take carb apart and thoroughly clean it.

My lawnboy 10304 runs about one minute and shuts down. Any ideas?

It sounds like it is 2 stroke.
Carefully remove the carb bowl, by undoing the brass bolt.
Examine the brass bolt for a small pin-hole in the side.
Use a piece of corn-broom NEVER anything else !!! and poke the hole(S) to make sure they are clear.
Blow out with air if available.
You can use this method to clean out all the carb orifices carefully.

Hope it helps,

Andy.
