Question about Dryers

1 Answer

I need to get to the thermal fuse in my Kenmore 90 Series electric dryer model # 110.66902690. I took off the bottom front panel and can't find it...I'm really not even sure what it is I'm supposed to be looking for! How do I find it and take it out so that I can replace it? Mt dryer wont heat up at all. So, actually my question is this...where is the thermal fuse located, what does it look like, how do I get it out, how do I replace it? Thanks, Tina

Thank you so much for your help...unfortunately I am still so VERY, VERY lost! Because now I am so confused. The man at the appliance shop said the thermal fuse I need to find is right behind the lint thing. I have taken off the bottom front panel and looked behind the lint thing but, I am just not seeing what it is I am supposed to find. I also looked where you said to look with no luck either...this is waaaay to frustrating & I think I may just give up! But, thank you much anyway for your response. :)

Ok the heater is on the right side of the unit standing from the front the thermal fuse is located behind the thermastat should be round black objects that have to wires going to them it is recommend that if you have a bad thermal fuse you replace your thermostat wich is the bigger round plastic also might want to check your vent out of the house for a restiction

Where to find fuses. My dryer is not heating up.

Does your dryer have power? If yes, then check (1) the flow of air outside the house from your dryer tube and (2) your circuit breaker panel for each circuit in the house (I've not seen fuses/breakers built into dryers -- though that could change). Then check (3) your heating element, (4) thermostat, (5) high-temp thermal cutoff switch, and (6) for debris in the air flow path to / from from the centrifugal fan.

Kenmore 90 series electric dryer qiuet pak 1 101649022200 the lights are on when you open the dryer but the dryer itself will not turn on or do anything!

There's thermal fuse on the blower that blows when the cycling thermostat malfunctions or the lint/vent duct are blocked. This thermal fuse is wired in series with the dryer motor and if it blows, power to the motor is terminated causing the dryer not to start and no dryer function works. Check to make sure that the lint filter is always clean and the vents are clear. Click on the link below for the detailed troubleshooting of the dryer, particularly the thermal fuse, when it doesn't start.

Kenmore 70 Series Dryer not heating and not cutting off

I had an identical problem to yours this weekend with my Kenmore dryer. There were 2 problems.

1. Timer was broken. Does not advance to "OFF" position on timed dry, however it still works for auto-dry.

2. Thermal fuse was blown. Upon replacing, dryer heated up normally.

I believe when the timer broke, the dryer had kept running and blew the thermal fuse. On Sears' website, thermal fuse is $5.30, timer is roughly $80.

check the thermal fuse if it is blown also change the high limit thermal cut-off fuse www.repairclinic.com shows your parts. go there and enter model number. Also check the heat element. to get into it remove the lint filter and the two screws you'll see there then pry the top up at the front corners. And through the back you should find the heat element and blower housing and thermal fuse and high limit fuse and cycling thermostat.

Kenmore 90 series electric dryer blowing cold air only

1st check the breakers
2nd check wiring in back to see connections are secure.
3rd check element. It would be burned in two.
4th check thermal overload switch which is located underneath top of dryer. Easy to remove top. Probably 4-6 screws.
