I have a dell dimension E521 with (VIDEO CARD ATI RADEON X1300 PRO With S-Video Output)
I have followed all the instructions for connecting PC to TV with the wireless PC to TV sender kit I bought, but I can get no picture at all. I can not find anything to configure dual mode I am running VISTA if that makes a difference . I would appreciate any help as being a complete NOVICE does not help
Hi,
I would suggest running your laptop S-Video out direct to the TV's Video IN first to verify that indeed it is running. To my understanding, you need to press Fn + F? key a couple of times to cycle through the different settings: LCD only, LCD + TV and TV only. The F? would be one of the function keys with the monitor icons on it. In most instances, you would need to lower down your Screen Resolution (and Screen Refresh Rates) in the laptop's Display Properties to match that of the TV. Soon as you can display on both the laptop's LCD and your TV using direct S-Video out to Video IN of your TV, then you can remove the S-Video connector/cable and hook it to the TV sender kit. thereafter it's a matter of finding the right channel on your TV (no longer in Video mode).
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
Thank you for using FixYa.
Hi again,
Copy that your PC is a desktop. Most TV require 800 x 600, have you tried lowering your screen resolution?
To enable TV, under Win XP: Go to Start;
Control Panel; Appearance and Themes; Display; Settings; Advanced;
select the "tab" for your Graphics card; select "Device Settings";
select TV. Or a variation for other Windows version.
Alternately, for some ATI. under 'Display Properties',
'Settings', 'Advanced', 'Displays', click the "TV" button, then
'Adjustments' tab. There you will find options to change the
vertical/horizontal size and position if needed.
.
Additionally, the option on some Dells is to
change to "Clone" in Nview. But "Clone" is grayed out unless you have
the RCA connector on the far end of the "S to RCA" cable, terminated in
a VCR or TV or TV sender kit as in your case.

If you are having problems with your video card
the drivers might not be installed correctly you might
have to uninstall the graphics card restart your computer then reinstall the
graphics card and its drivers
If your computer
came with a motherboard disc the drivers could be on it
Click start control
panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to display
adapters + to expand you might see a yellow question mark ? or exclamation mark
! or a red x right click select reinstall drivers or
you might need to
download one

My Dell E521 is a desk top, and yes I have tried the sender with another PC and it works perfectly
My big trouble is trying to configure dual monitor mode. On the other pc it is easy I can do it in settings but not with this Dell. When it starts to boot it shows the start up screen and then it goes blank and the main monitor takes over
