I have the same problem. The flash doesn't work after the camera was dropped. I'm wondering if I can purchase a flash and replace it.

I have sx100 camera. when i am using to take a picture with flash i cannot take the next picture immediately. some times it take more than 30 sec. without flash no prob. this is not a memory card problem.

It depends on your battery condition, flash capacitor will charge faster if battery is freshly recharged. Or battery has larger current capacity. You can shoot pictures with flash faster if its fill-in or closer in distance. Which means capacitor recharge is not totally depleted for each flash duration.

Flash

HI,

Most likely your flash bulb burned out or was damaged. If you feel comfortable opening your camera you can buy a flash module on the internet or ebay for around $20-$25 and install it yourself. If you do so, be VERY careful NOT TO TOUCH the capacitor as those things can store a massive amount of voltage even when the battery is removed and the camera has been off for some time.

If you don't feel comfortable opening your camera and trying to replace it yourself, my suggestion would be to get it repaired or replace it if it is still under warranty.

Goodluck..

Hi

This is normally a problem with the flash. Try resetting all the options to default through the menu... I think Sony calls it 'initialize' but I don't have a W35 on hand to walk through the steps sorry.

Hopefully this will work. If not, you will have to replace the flash, but you may still have to clear the error message after replacing the flash and that takes specialized equipment.

Good luck

Flash not working

look at the screen on the top of the camera to see if the flash is turned on. There is a little button like a electricty bolt hold it down and rotate the little wheel on the top right on the backside of the camera.

Do you have the camera set for flash? If it were set for no flash (diagonal bar thru lighting bolt) the F32X and the camera do not communicate.
