Question about JBL Marine Audio Wired Remote

Open Question

I need help if you can. First thing is, I don?t know anything. I've tried reading online and I?m only getting more confused. I?m upgrading the stereo in my boat. I want to add an amp. This is what I have: Kenwood KMR-300 CD Receiver: Maximum output power: 50 watts x 4, Speaker Impedance: 4-8 ohm. Four Sony XS-MP61 6-1/2" Dual Cone Marine Speakers (came in the boat; 2006 model): Peak power handling: 80 watts, RMS power handling: 20 watts, 4 ohm impedance. Two Krypt 8" HLCD Tower Speakers: Peak power handling: 360 watts, RMS power handling: 180 watts, Nominal Impedance: 4 ohm. Can you help with recommendations? Thank you, Leigh OQuinn

Register and download the manual for free at retrevo.com

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Behringer-EP4000-Amps-manual/id/23591dj795/t/2/

http://www.raltron.com/cust/tools/parallel_resistance.asp

It's ohm's law, dude. 1/a + 1/b = 1/total. One each 8- and 4-ohm speaker in parallel per channel would be 2.7 ohms (nominal). So it will work in theory.

How you manage the potential difference in volume between dissimilar speakers on the same amp channel is a mystery.

Distortion will kill any speaker, not power. Stay within the amp's usable range.

  • By no power do you mean you get no response from CD or radio out of the speakers when trying to use the radio? Should this be the case then I'd like you to check a few places.
  1. First look to make sure the wires in the back are not broke or the insulation has somehow been negated.
  2. Next is to check the power wires and ground wire. Look for an inline fuse anywhere between the battery and either power wires. One should always be installed to prevent a surge reaching the head unit so make sure to check for a fuse. Replace if blown with same size fuse, never bigger.
  3. Remove the face plate and notice the reset hole (last hole on the left) Take a pen or other pointed but not sharp item and stick it into that hole and hold for 10 seconded. Then retry.
  4. Make sure the contacts for the face plate where it hooks into the head unit are clean and don't have any grime buildup that would prevent any of the contacts from contacting.
  5. Next you can try removing all power wires and wait for 5 minutes and re-connect. Sometimes this will also reset the unit.
  • I know you asked for a manual. I don't have the exact one. I do have a similar one that I can offer. http://www.premiumleisure.com/Manuals/nov07/Hydro_Spa_JBL_Stereo.pdf
  • Your unit was discontinued and not made for long and this may be a part of why the manual is difficult to find... for free anyway it is. I can say I don't need a manual to help you determine why the unit is not powering on.
  • How are you determining has power but just not responding to the on/off button? A volt meter check to the wires perhaps at the back of the radio? If you get power to the wires at the back of the radio then double check your ground real well because if the ground is good then, at that point, the head unit is bad.
  • If you perform all the tests I stated above and still no dice then the head unit is bad. There is no "code" for the radio so that will not be a factor. It's really a process of elimination.

  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

Regards, Tony

I have a 2010 Jeep Wrangler and a cd is stuck in the stereo. I've tried disconnecting the battery and several other things. it still plays though

it needs to be serviced.
best is to , remove it and upgrade to a media center with no CD.
CD;s are dead. everyone use flash USB sticks now,
like 4000 songs on one stick easy.

the HEAD end CD player must be dismantled to find cause.
it can be simple (done many i have) or hard, expensive and hard to get parts. inside. or just a dirty switch.

My mini laptop says "BOOTMGR

Hi,

The BOOTMGR is also known as the "Boot Manager." That means that there is something wrong with the hard drive. You would need to copy that BOOTMGR file from the Windows disc that your laptop would've came with. Otherwise, you would need to restore the computer to it's factory settings.

Now, who's the laptop's manufacturer? I suggest you call them and have them assist you restoring your laptop to it's original factory settings, like when you first bought it.

If you have some problems. Don't hesitate to leave a comment and I'll get back to you.

Please leave a comment and ratings to help me improve my way of helping people here in fixya.

Thank you for using fixya..

Have a good one...

My ScanSnap has worked flawlessly for years. I just tried to scan and got the following message: undefined error occurred.(0xffffdcf7) Won't scan. Tried to reboot - no luck. Let me know...

The same thing happened to me. In a nutshell, you have to install new drivers. Have you recently upgraded your system to SnowLeopard or Lion? I did, and that's what went wrong.

To do:
1. Make sure you have the latest ScanSnap manager: http://www.fujitsu.com/global/support/computing/peripheral/scanners/drivers/mac.html
Install that.
2. Get the Lion update: http://www.fujitsu.com/global/support/computing/peripheral/scanners/drivers/mac-mg22.html
Install that.
3. Open the new ScanSnap Manager (v 2.2). Delete the old one from your dock, so you don't get confused.
4. Scan away.

I am trying to install the proper driver for my futura ce-350 on a acer laptop and with os windows 7,, if you could help it would be appricated..

Go to http://www.futura-support.com/downloads/ce150.html. There is a link on the page for an update to download and ALSO a link for very explicit instructions. They're a little complex, but if you follow them carefully, step by step, you should be fine. Just be sure to read them through FIRST.

If you need any help following them, let me know. I'll be happy to help you in any way I can.

Also, be sure that you UNINSTALL any Futura software and updates you've had on your computer BEFORE you start to reinstall anything.

Leave me any comments back if you need ANY help, including if it's something like the uninstall. I don't know how familiar or unfamiliar you are with PC's, so please don't feel you can't ask. I've helped a number of people get the updates running, and I will be only too happy to do the same for you. I know Singer's support sucks!

I am sewing a low-rise contoured waistband on a pair of women's pants, and am confused about how to put it together properly.

Have you assembled a waistband before? Is it the contour part that's confusing you? Please give me some more details under comments. I check back daily and should then be able t6o help guide you through. I've been sewing for over 30 years, so I'm sure I can help you. I've got a pattern with a contoured waistband and can use that to put pictures in to give you a hand. If you can put pictures back in the comments (I don't know if that works), that would be a big help.

We'll get you thru this and you'll have a pair you'll be proud to wear!
