Closed caption on my Vizio VX42L

cant find the closed captioned for Netflix on tv not on computer.

for on the computer, it has C.C on TV

The closed capation function should turn ON and OFF, by each press of the button one the remote control marked "CC". If not, check the remote control. It is not the fault with TV.

Both the set and most cable or sat boxes have this feature--look in main menu for captions and select CC1 which is the most commonly used one.

The remote control for your Vizio TV probably has a Closed Caption button. Is there a button with CC printed on it? If so, that is most likely the button to press for Closed Captioning.

Did you try turning it off with the closed caption button on the remote? Its labelled cc. If you dont have the original Vizio remote you will need to go into menu-settings and find the closed caption and turn it off there

Just press the CC button on the remote. Some TV stations may not send out CC data. Pressing the CC button many times will cycle thru all the options including OFF.

CC (Closed Caption)
Press the down button to highlight the CC (Closed Caption) selection.
Press the > button. A separate menu will appear with the following CC
settings

When watching regular analog (NTSC) TV, the CC feature is available in the
Setup menu.
Press the down button to highlight the CC selection.
Press the > button to select CC1, CC2, CC3 or CC4.
Once the adjustments are completed press the LAST button repeatedly to exit
the OSD completely.
Closed Caption for regular TV is usually CC1 or CC2.

This sounds like the closed caption is turned on and in the text mode instead of the regular closed caption mode. With the remote or in the main menu there is a way to change or turn off the closed caption. Regular caption is usually marked CC1.
