1995/6 Jeep Cherokee (not the Grand) air con has stopped

I have a 1995/6 Jeep Cherokee (not the Grand) with 4lit, straight 6cyl engine. The air con has stopped working. The clutch does not come in so I suspect an electrical problem. Have checked the relay. Nothing happens when you select the air con on the panel. Heater/vent fan works OK. There is a switch/electrical device on the little container with the viewing window, does this stop the system if gas is lost? What fuses are there in the circuit? Has anyone an electrical circuit for the air con, preferably the Jeep original?
What further checks do you recommend before taking it to the service centre?
Thanks for your help

It could be an electical problem but it's more likely that one of the safety interlocks is stopping your AC from operating due to low refrigerant or low oil in the compressor.
The AC is not something to mess with if your not sure what your doing. The refrigerant can cause severe injuries on contact and over charging the system or forcing it to run if it's plugged can cause the lines to explode.

Changing a starter on 2006 jeep grand cherokee 6cyl. 4x4, how hard is it, it in a tight location, any tips

On the straight six it should not be too difficult. It is on the passenger side of the engine on the back. There are two bolts that go straight up into the housing that hold the starter on. Then you have the wires going to the starter itself. I believe there are some shims between the starter and the housing, make sure you don't lose those. It is kinda a rough job laying on the ground, but entirely possible in about 45 minutes depending on your level of patience :)

On the top of the bellhousing. From the drivers point of view it is in the 11:00 o'clock position. The harness wraps around the back of the bellhousing and plugs in on the passenger side of the block near the oil sending unit.

Carb'ed Engines:

Hope this helps
