Connect the Printer Directly to the Wall socket.
Then Perform the steps given below to reset the printer.
This will remove all the network and fax settings.
if the issue still persists, contact HP for replacement.

Please remove the power cable from the back of the printer.
Press and hold # and 6 while reconnecting the power cord to the product, and then release both buttons.

We have to press the keys on the printer. Release the buttons as soon as the power cable gets inserted to the printer.

Check eBay for replacement parts. Voltage, power capacity and the connector can all vary but you can probably find a replacement part. If not, the things are so cheap these days.

The printer is plugged in but does not turn on. The green light on the AC adaptor is on. I have tried a friend's AC adaptor and it did not work either.

I think it would be wrong to suspect a problem with the adapter wire if the same problem occurs with two adapters. Do both adapters work with your friends printer? If so one would suspect that the plug port on your printer is defective.

This is the advice from the manual:

Power button is not lit

1 Disconnect the power supply cord from the wall outlet, and then from the printer.

2 Plug the cord all the way into the power supply port on the printer. make sure it is well seated

3 Plug the cord into an electrical outlet that other electrical devices have been using.

4 If the Power button light is not on, press Power.

If this does not correct the problem and it is a new purchase I would consider returning it to the vendor. Otherwise you may need to have a technician Tto investigate and confirn that power is reaching the printerre and the problem lis elesewhere with a switch or posisbly you need to replace the power connector port on the printer.

Printer is dead

Unplug the power adapter from the printer. The power adapter is the black box behind the printer where the power cord is attached. Leave the other end of the power cord attached to the power outlet. Bypass any surge device or power strip, plug the power cord straight to the power outlet in the wall. Properly secure the power cord in the power adapter. There should be green LED light on on the power adapter. Plug the power adapter back in the printer. Make sure it's plugged in securely and in the correct position. If it won't power on automatically, press the power button. If that doesn't help, it may be a hardware problem. If that's the case, I suggest you contact Lexmark Technical Support to further investigate the problem.

I have a Dell M20 and it has stopped turning on. the green light on the adapter is illuminated when plugged into the wall ... then when plugged into the power port on the M20 the green light goes out. ...

I want to say that it sounds like a short in the wires for the adapter. I doubt that a motherboard would cause the light to go out on the adapter. Go to best buy, frys, or some computer store and ask them to let you plug your laptop in to test and see if it is the wire. They surely have a dell being displayed and usually they will let you plug it in with that wire to see if it works.

On the issue with th ebattery on the 1521 inspiron. Took battery out and plugged in still will not power up. Could it be the adapter as well?

On the ac adaptor, look for a green light that will turn on when you plug it into the wall outlet, if its on that means the ac adapter working. If you get a green light on the ac adapter but then the green light goes away when you plug it into the laptop then that means the laptop has a bad motherboard.

If you plug the ac adapter into a wall outlet and get no green light then that means the ac adapter is bad and you would need to get another one.
