Power nozzle N106M on our Electrolux Guardian has stopped workin

The power nozzle N106M on our Electrolux Guardian no longer works. The light does NOT come on and the beater bar does NOT move.
When I put the small, attachment power nozzle on it still works fine.
The RESET button the the top of the unit does not seem to have any impact either.
Motor is warn out? Breaker switch has failed? Any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
Jack

The elbow assembly is most likely defective. It's common with these type nozzles.
Replace it and you'll be back in business.
I have them available .

Start simplest always and work back to most difficult... so make sure you have power to the main unit, do you have a cheap voltmeter? If not they're cheap... Second check that connection plug is not stuffed with debris. Point is isolate whether it is the unit or attachment, most likely it's in the connection and repairable by you or used vacuum repair.

SOURCE: Need a new electrolux power nozzle model N106m

If you're looking for a new head for your vacuum. Then you're going to have to replace it with the same type of nozzle.

However, wall inlets are standard so you can purchase any kind of attachment kit and it'll fit your inlets and work with your system. Their are many online retailers that offer a wide range of kits that will fit your system.

SOURCE: Electrolux power nozzle N106M does

Do you have the manual for your machine? Just in case you don't, here is a copy (free). Click on the link below to open their website:

http://www.aerusvacuums.com/support/manuals/index.cfm

Select Centralux in the first box and click on download. This will save a pdf version of the manual to your pc.

Page 16 of the manual has troubleshooting for the power nozzle. Clean out all the filters on the machine, then turn it over and use scissors to cut away any and all hair or string that is stuck on the beater bar. Then remove the filter and wash it (it nees to be washed every 6 months or so) You need to wait 48 hours for it to dry before using the machine again. Press the red reset button and put the filter back in the machine. Make sure you click and lock the filter as shown on page 8 of the manual or the machine will not work.

make sure the power nozzle is in the II position as shown on page 9 of the manual. The only things that would cause the nozzle not to work are clogs in the tubing, or if it is full of dirt and has not been emptied - or if the nozzle is not connected in the II position as indicated.

Hope this helps?

I have a Electrolux Guardian Encore E and the power head quit working. It has suction power head off and all other attachments work.

Hi,
Try this. Remove the power nozzle from the lower wands. Remove the wands from the hose handle. Snap the power nozzle directly to the hose. Make sure all switches are turned on and try it. If the power nozzle now works, there's an issue with one or both of the wands. If the power head does NOT work, you've secluded the problem to the power head. With that being said and although it could be a power nozzle switch or a wire that disconnected inside, it's most likely the power nozzle Elbow assembly wiring that's worn out. This has been an issue with this model after so many years and you simply need to replace the Elbow assembly.
I hope this helps and let me know if I can be of any more help.

I was vacuuming under my dresser using the large power head and I bumped the power head against the dresser and it stopped working.

If it doesn't work after depressing the reset button, a wire in the power nozzle may have been knocked loose. If that's the case, it will need to be taken to an authorized Aerus Electrolux store for repair.

Same problems - power nozzle motor does not work after cleaning the brush and pressing the reset button. Also the handle button which turns on the nozzle does not light up (my wife thought it lit up...

Hello,

This is a pretty common problem on the Guardian, and it's usually caused by 1 of two things. Both are pretty simple fixes. The first thing you should try is simply eliminating the wand assemblies from the vacuum cleaner. So remove the hose from the upper wand, and disconnect the lower wand from the power nozzle. Now try connecting the hose directly into the power nozzle and turn on the vacuum cleaner, and power nozzle. Does it work? If yes, then one of your wands has gone bad, and you'll need to replace it. Here's a link to the wands on our website if you need purchase a new Guardian wand;

Electrolux Guardian Replacement Wand Assembly

If the power nozzle still won't come on, then you may have a much simplier problem. This is either a terrible design by Aerus, or they knew this was going to happen, and made it this way so you'd have to take your machine into to have them service it. It's a very simple problem usually.

Look on the neck of the power nozzle. You will see a small circle indent on the front part of the neck located underneath of where the wand connects into the neck. This is actually a cover that hides a screw below. Simply use a small flat head screw driver, and pop off the small circular cap that hides the screw. There is a Star bit screw underneath. I believe it's a T15, but it may be a T10 sized screw. Use I believe a T15 Torx screw driver and remove the screw from the neck.

Once the screw has been removed, Use a flathead screw driver, and pry the front cover of the neck off. It shouldn't take a lot of force, and should come off pretty easily. Once this has been removed, you should see to metal pins, and two lead wires. What happens is the lead wire becomes disconnected from the metal pin, which then prevents the power nozzle from turning on. Simply reattach the lead wire into the metal pin, and snap the front cover of the neck back on. Put your screw back in, and your screw cover (or you can just leave this part off, you'll probably be having to remove it frequently to reinstall the lead wire, lol).

If neither of these two problems fixed your machine, then it sounds like you may have a bad hose assembly. Hopefully this isn't the case, and it's usually not. 9 times out of 10, it's just the lead wire that's come loose. If you do however need to buy a hose, here's a link to the Guardian hose on our site;

Electrolux power nozzle not working

the powerhead gets its power through a connector adjacent to the hose connection to the vacuum end. there's two wires embedded in the hose which make its way to the handle, pipe and powerhead. take apart the handle and see if you can read continuity from one end to the handle switch.
