have a look at the above link...or incase it doesnt work here's the info: if you already have the mp3s on your phone you can easily set them as your ringtone through mediascape... go to the mp3 you want as ringtone and simply press the menu button (it has the 4 squares above it)... it comes up with the option 'set as ringtone'! :))

How do i delete a ringtone from my xperia x10? The handbook and tutorials are useless.

When you say "Ringtone" do you mean a "Standard" tone or one you has downloaded and set yourself?

Standard tones cannot be deleted. Unless you connect your handset to a pc/laptop and search through all the folders and files and remove it that way. Be careful in there though.

Downloaded tones will be in mediascape.

    Tap "Mediascape"
scroll to "Music" on the bottom of screen.
Tap "More" in top Right of Screen.
Scroll to "Tracks" and find your offending ringtone from there. Just tap it and press bottom left button to bring up options for you.

    Hope this helps?

Cant change message tone on my sony eririsson mini xperia

The SD card has a folder named media, there is a sub-folder called audio, and subfolder to that is another called notifications. I believe you can also create ringtones and alarm subfolders below audio as well.
In the notifications folder place your new message tone.
To select the tone, choose settings, sound & display,Notification ringtone and pick your new sound.

How to set MP3 as text message tone on Sony Ericsson Xperia X10

If you want to set an mp3 or "Custom" tone for your "Notifications" you can dowload an app or...
Connect your X10 to your computer. Pull down the usb notification in top left of screen and mount sd card.
Then go into your phone menu via "My Computer" and either go into media/audio/notifications or create the folders yourself. Remember they must be lower case letters.
Then all you have to do is copy your tone into the "notifications" folder disconnect your phone from your pc and go into "Settings" "Sound and Display" "Notification ringtone" and it should now be in your list with the preset standard tones.

How to put phone on ******** only, without any ringtone, nothing in guide gives u details regarding how to change call profiles i.e. silent, ******** etc.

2 options.. from main screen, hit settings, go to sound & display, pick & choose in there or if u slide the home screen over so u see the right side of it, just tapd the far right icon, it will change from blue (ring) to a weird buzzy thing (vibrate) to a speaker with line thru it (silent mode). Yea, documentation a bit lacking, i found this quick link icon by complete accident!

How do i get music from phone to set as ringtone on experia x10

To set music that is already on your phone just play the song through the in-built player then...
Press the bottom left button. (The one with 4 boxes in it)
And a menu will pop-up giving you the option of setting that tune as a ringtone.

If you need to look through the phone for the tone just...
Press mediascape or open it in your main menu if its is no longer on your front screen.
On the bottom menu option tap Music
IN the top RIGHT of the screen is a MORE button. Press and hold this for about 1 second.
    Now you have another screen.
Scroll through the options at the bottom of the screen to either tracks or artists to find your track you wish to set as a ringtone then tap it to play and again press the bottom left button for the option to set as a ringtone.
