Question about Xerox DocuColor 3535 Copier

2 Answers

Hi I have a problem with Xerox docucolor 3535. After changing consumables we had a fault notice " a fault has occurred some features may be unavailable". The scanner works but print does not. The trays are not raising and the heater does not power up. I think that i need to reset a line in the nvm - but I cannot see a error code. Can I do a factory reset of NVM and if so where can I find my settings?

Hi,
Your printer should be configured to access its configuration page via a network webpage. Just entering your printer url something like http://<ur printer ip address> in Internet explorer may bring up the interface from there you can restore the settings to default.

I would like to suggest you the below troubleshooting steps:
1. Remove and reinstall all the removable parts from your device as this may fix lot of part miss-align problems.
2. If still problem persists, then please reinstall all the drivers and applications which came along with your device and try again. If your problem is due to driver conflict or improper software settings, then it will be fixed in this method.

I hope this is useful to you
Thanks

Hi Thanks for the reply - I tried reseating all the variable elements - all seems to be fine. I have not been able to reinstall the software as I do not have the discs. I have tried the i.p address but no luck there either. Is it possible that I just need to reset a nvm setting?

  • Hi,
Your problem may get solved when you try reinstalling drivers and applications. As you are not having the driver cd for your device, please use the below link to download the needed driver and softwares for your operating system.

Sounds to me like you need a drum or one of the other routine maintenance items. The way to find out is to press your machine status button, then look under supplies. You will probably find that a drum life has expired, the IBT cleaning roll or fuser life have expired. I am sure if you look there one of those "supply" items has reached its end of life. In the same area under the machine status , there is also a section there for active messages and fault codes. Make sure you look there. If you have additional questions please ask.

Hi I have checked the machine status - all toners show 100% and all drums show OK - all other shows Ok as well. We replace black drum and all toner + waste tray when we had the fault. We also reseated / cleaned all areas. The paper trays show open on the screen - but we had a local engineer in yesterday (he knew nothing about Xerox m/c and didn't have the software diagnostics) - he said the self test was working but the paper trays were not rising and heater not switching on on boot up.
The scanner works fine, the creo seems to communicate fine and we had no problems up to the point of changing the black drum. I think that the lady who installed the drum did not seat the unit quite right and turned the unit on and off several times and I believe that if you do this more than 3 times that the software may need a reset - but I have no idea of the reset code or reset value - but I think this may be the problem.
The new installed units are all clean and seated well - the "engineer" also checked this.
Ant help would be much appreciated

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Can Xerox DocuColor 3535 toner ink be used in Xerox WorkCentre 7228?

From experience, I wouldn't do it...
The different series usually have slightly different toner composition, so you may find that your copier will be majorly over-toned or under-toned. by doing that.
I personally wouldn't risk it, and I have been in the industry 24 years...

That is a problem with the laser or ROS polygon mirror motor.
It most likley has failed.
Google a business called The Parts Drop, call and ask for Britt.
They can help you parts wise. Its not real difficult to replace.

How do i reset the second bias transfer roller on a Xerox 3535

I am afraid you will have to call in a qulified xerox technitian to reset the second bais transfer roll. It need to be done via a laptop connected to the m/c. The laptop needs to have a special program which only xerox techs. have in there possetion.
