Black Toner Cartridge

I just changed my black toner this past week, and finally figured out why the cartridges get stuck like this.

First, you must eject the toner cartridge on the front-panel menu:
Menu->Replace Toner->Eject Toner->Black(K)

It will say "Rotating to Black Toner(K)" and then say "Black Toner(K) Ready to Eject"

Now, open the front panel and you'll see the black toner cartridge in front. You can also open the top panel if you want more light on your work area.

Lift the lock handle on the old toner cartridge to the "unlock" position, and here's the part that the Dell instructions don't have:

There are two channels for the toner cartridges -- one on each side. Run your finger down the channel on the right, and you'll feel a small, spring-loaded catch. This catch often gets sticky and won't release the cartridge without some help. Don't force it, but gently move it towards the back of the printer and it should release.

Now the old cartrdige should slide right out, and you can finish per the instructions that came with the new cartridge.

Open the white door
pull bypass door towards you
move the blue lever towards you
slide lever to the side ,lift out the old cartridge
pull tape on new toner
snap in new toner firmly
push blue lever forward
close doors

There is a button you can press to free the carousel, and turn it round to show the black cartridge, it is located to the left of the carousel opening just under a little picture showing how to get the toner cartridge out,

your printer is laser printer change toner cartridge right,
you may try
1) Open the front door and remove the toner cartridge.
2) you will see a small round hole near the colour toner cartridge
3) hold a screwdriver in that hole and the carousel will rotate freely. 4) Move the carousel round and remove each one of three cartridges at a time.
set back all cartridge close door.

um... Cyan is blue isn't it?

Magenta Pink,
Yellow = Yellow and
Black = black.

If you wait until the colour has completely run out, you will see a message to that effect, and the correct cartride will be presented. If you wish to change before this:



1. On the printers' control panel, press the "right" button (labeled no. 3) once and then the "down" button (labeled no. 4) until you see the RESET MENU.
2. Press the "right" button (labeled no. 3) once.
3. Press the "down" button (labeled no. 4) until you see "CHANGE TONER X" appear on the screen (where X is either C, M, Y or K, Cyan. Magenta, Yellow or Black).
4. Press the "right" button (labeled no. 3) once. The printer will rotate the toner carousel to the correct position for you to change.
5. Open the printer door and change the toner as normal.

Open the front door and remove the toner bottle.

Look near the colour toner carts and you will see a small round hole. Jam a screwdriver in that hole and the carousel will rotate freely. Move the carousel round and remove each toner one at a time.

Black is listed as K. CMY (Cyan Magenta Yellow) K (Black)

Easiest way ids to open the fron door, remove the toner bottle and poke a screwdriver in the small round hole near the toner opening. This will free the carousel so you can move it to whatever colour you want to remove.
