Here is a link to a SanDisk Support Page that may help you:

http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/10/kw/SDCZ6/r_id/101834

If you try the above fix and it does not work, remove the Cruzer Flash Drive and then restart your computer. Once the computer boots back up, plug the Cruzer Flash Drive back into the USB port on your compuer (You can try different USB ports on your PC). It should detect the device and work.

Also, as of October 1st 2009, SanDisk started shipping the Cruzer Micro (SDCZ6-XXX) product line without the U3 software pre-installed on the device.

During the transition period, there may have been a small number of devices that were packaged in older packaging that states the device includes the U3 software. If you purchased one of these devices and would like to use the U3 software, please download and install it.

I hope this helps! If it does, please be sure to leave me a positive rating/feedback. I'd really appreciate it!

Best Regards,

James

My problem is since scan disk wasn't being recognized it had been suggested I uninstall my usb ports so the drivers could be reinstalled. My new problem is getting the drivers reinstalled. I downloaded & reinstalled the new chipset drivers but the usb ports are coming up under unknown devices in device manager.

Is there a external CD Rom drive for a HP Pavillion a1410y desktop computer

Why not just replace the CD drive in the PC? Don't be afraid to pull the cover.Turn the PC off,but leave it plugged in(the grounded plug will prevent static damage).Disconnect the drive, pull it out,put in a new one.(Don't forget to match the option pins on the back of the drive to set it for "slave" or "master".

I already wrote disc but how to overwrite a disc

On a CD-R, if you don't finalize or write protect the disk, can you overwrite a file?

Or in overwriting are you simply creating a second file of the same name in the TOC/directory and deleting the name, only, of the first file

You can add more data if there is space on the DVD+R, but you can't overwrite it.

You see, when a disc is burned, little microscopic ridges are put onto the disc. This is your data.

You cannot overwrite this data.

It's kind of like trying to use a permanent marker on the same spot of paper twice.

650 megabytes (MB)

CD-R

You can burn files to a CD-R more than once (each time is referred to as a session), but you can't delete files from the disc. Each burn is permanent.

650 MB and 700 MB

You must close the session to read this disc in a different computer. Highly compatible with most computers and devices.

CD-RW

You can burn files to a CD-RW more than once. You can also delete unwanted files from the disc to reclaim space and add additional files. A CD-RW can be burned and erased many times.

How can i get my images off of my camera if i don't have a cd

You don't need a CD -- You need a computer and a burner
Attach your camera to a computer via a download cable and save them to your hard drive until such a time that you have a CD/DVD burner and a CD or DVD disk then transfer them all to a CD/DVD

I don't know how to download cd's and dvd's on dell EL-1210-09

What do you mean download cd's and dvd's? You don't download them, you simply put them in the drive and play them. If you purchased a music cd or a movie dvd that you want to play or watch, then just put it in the drive. The system will recognize it and automatically open Windows Media Player for you to play it or you can open it yourself if autoplay is not active.

Exactly what is it that you are trying to do?

If you are talking about putting a blank cd or dvd into the drive to copy music or a movie to it, that's another story and will take a while to explain. You will basically need to make sure your CD/DvD drive can burn CD's or Dvd's. Then you will need some type of burning software (later versions of Window Media Player will burn).

Click Start/My Computer and look at your devices. if your DvD/CD Drive is listed look for RW which means rewritable (it can burn or copy). If it say DVDrw it can read and write dvd's. If it says CDrw it can read and write cd's. You can also look on the drive door on the computer where you would place the cd or dvd. If it says Rewritable CDrw (it can write cd's) or DvDrw (it can write dvd's). If it says ROM (read only media), that means it can Read Only and not write.

If the drive is rewritable then the software such as Media Player will allow you to go find what you want to put on the cd or dvd. You have two ways of putting things in the software to burn or write. You can copy and paste, or you can drag and drop.

I have a RDS stereo and it won't play my cd's. It says player error

RESET YOUR PLAYER AT DEFAULT SETTINGS. SWITCH IT OFF. SWITCH IT ON AND INSERT CD. GIVE THE PLAYER TIME TO READ. DON'T PRESS ANY BUTTONS TILL IT COMPLETE IT'S READING. IT WILL PLAY THE CD.

ALSO CHECK CD'S ARE BRANDED AND NOT COPY FROM COMPUTER. FEW COMPUTER WRITE CD NOT HAVE AUTO PLAY OPTION.

IF PROBLEM NOT SOLVE PLEASE INTIMATE.

My old computer is a Gateway 400 desktop. But I have a different Mother Board. A DFI AZ30-TL. And a newer compatible hard drive. All this was done about 7 to 8 years ago. The only original Gateway devices...

Look at removing the upper and lower filters from the CD drive on Windows, Microsoft has a guide here

CD Rom drives don't have drivers as such, so the drivers you need are for your motherboard. If the drive has failed, you can get any DVD drive that has the same kind of connector (parallel IDE) and replace it.

Dell Studio 1737 won't read cd/dvd's.

You should have a CD that came with the computerthat has "Diagnostics and Utilities" listed under contents. Boot formthis CD and run the extended diagnostics.
If you don't have the CD you can go to www.support.dell.com and select "Drivers and Downloads". Enter the"service tag" (serial number) of the computer. You can then download"Diagnostics" .
If you can't boot from the CD then you CD/DVD drive needs to be replaced. If the computer boots from the CD you have a software issue.

My computer doesn't read dvd & cd s . I neek a driver

You don't need a driver, all the necessary drivers are pre-installed at the windows. The most common error at these cases is a hardware error (scratched disk or defective cd/dvd rom)

Cd/w/ dvd/r 522c is not reading nor writing just blank screen !

is it your computer screen that is black

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they are probably old and faulty a computer needs its connections to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

hope this will help
