Hi good day! just a piece of advice and it might work, try to do power drain which will remove any static on your computer.
try to power off the computer, make sure that it is completely turned off,
try to remove the ac adapter and the battery as well and anything that is plugged in on to your comp. Then press and hold the power button for 15, seconds after that put the battery back and the ac adapter and then try to power on the computer.. hope this will work goodluck!

Does Eee PC 900 has an on-screen keyboard?

Windows should have the feature. Check Start menu, Accessibility, or something along those lines. Otherwise it may be in Control Panel, do a search for accessibility.

Some of the keys have stopped working, U, Q, 2, 4, 6, 9 and right shift to be specific

Assuming you haven't spilled any liquids on it anything, I would obviously guess that you're keyboard unit is going bad. One other possibility is that the connection between the keyboard and mother board has somehow become loose. The connection is made via a ribbon type cable. To check this, you would have to remove the keyboard and open up the laptop. Also assuming that the laptop is out of warranty, you could try to just order a replacement keyboard for the laptop and take a chance that it will fix it. Many companies sell replacements for all kinds of laptops including yours and they are not too expensive, usually under $30. I've include some web links below of vendors who sell keyboards for your mode. By the way, I do not endorse any of them nor am I affiliated in any way with these companies. Just providing some sources I happen to find on Google.com

Good luck!
