I am digitizing vinyl. I cannot figure out how to connect this HE100 to my computer. phono has only in. turntable will not run through tape, which has record/audio out connections. it seems silly and...

Perhaps you should break this down into its TWO components:

1) Define the Phono source you're using. Is it an old-school turntable that REQUIRES a Phono Preamp conenction on the receiver to generate a useful level and quality of audio: or do you hae a new-age TT that can supply its own pre-amplified signal to ANY Line Level input; or do yuou have a newer-age USB TT that could connect directly to a PC via USB?

2) Anything that can connect to or pass through the receiver can be used as an input on a PC Sound Card via it's Microphone Input (if not via a specific analog or digital input). Run an RCA cable from the receiver's Tape_ or VCR-Out to an adapter that fits the Microphone Input if there is no RCA-style audio input.

1 - As you already have it, take it out of the box and look at the back. You should be able to determine the connections from there. It is also in the owners manual.

2 - The receiver only supports 6 and 8 ohm speakers. Do not use 3 ohm speakers with it.

3 - The Yamaha website has instructions on how to check the firmware version and instruction on how to upgrade the firmware.

Play phono - vinyl records

You need to purchase a phono preamp (about $20) and then the output of the preamp can be connected to any line level input on the receiver (tape, CD, DVD etc.)

Record from turntable to computer via Pioneer SX-737 Receiver

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Pls be informed that the model was not displayed, only the brand Pioneer.

Nonetheless and assuming that the turntable is built-in into the receiver, locate the REC out or LINE out at the rear of the receiver. Plug the RCA of the cable there while the 1/8 plugs into the AUX/LINE IN of the computer. Select PHONO in the receiver, in the computer, double click-on the speaker icon in the System Tray (clock). The speaker control window will open:
  • click on Options;
  • click on Properties;
  • tick/click Recording;
  • check Line in and/or Aux;
  • press on OK button;
  • adjust Aux/Line in setting to desired level.
It is of course necessary to likewise be running a recording program.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

Sir, i need to download an audio driver for my via motherboard.but i cant find it anywhere.an audio codec also support named vinyl deck but i didnt find any downlod link.feeling helpless.thank you.

Something to consider: I did a Google search for "Vinyl Deck Codecs", and it seems vinyl deck to be associated with VIA Technologies, but if I were you I would double check for yourself. I did find this one link, http://www.downloadsource.net/c161/via/ which has a VIA AC97 codec combo drivers pack for several different OS`s, or you could go to Via Technologies, and look at their list of drivers. Note, since I do not know what os you use, type of computer, onboard sound/sounddcard, or even if the via drivers are for sure the ones you need, these hints, are just suggestions/a place to start. It is possible VIA drivers are not even the type you need, but vinyl deck seems to be connected with via. Remember Google is your friend. Good luck, I know the feeling, almost nothing worse than a computer without sound.

Output from Denon D-700?

Hi ...

If there's a tape monitor in/out on the D700,turn the tape monitor on and connect the "Play out" phono jacks on the 700 to the line-in on the computer. Spark up the turntable and you should be able to listen to the vinyl on the PC while recording.

Amp protection circuit

disconnect all speaker leads at the unit,power it up then see if it'll stay on. if it does, reinstall one speaker lead at a time until it goes into protect mode. that speaker line will probably have a short in it. Just run a peice of skr wire straight from the unit to the sspeaker in doubt, hooks em up see what happens. if it shuts down have that skr ckd.if it works, just rip out the old shorted line and run new stuff.
