SOURCE: excess white smoke coming from exhaust of TB 75SS string trimmer

This model is a four cycle engine meaning that it does not a mix of gas and 2 cycle oil. You just fill it like your lawn mower, gas and fill the crank case with oil

Only used my trimmer 5 times since I had, trimmed my hedges 2 times last year & twice this year. After done doing my hedges, I put on my weed trimmer when finished & holding my trimmer in idle it...

Some disassembly may be required to get to the starter/recoil unit to fix this. The unit has Torx head fasteners and some level of mechanical skill is involved. Check your warranty?

No directions on how to re-string the spool on my TB-720

On the bump mechanism, line up the two arrows, then unscrew the bump, this will release the spool, then you wind the two strings in the opposite directions, the arrow on the spool will tell you the direction to wind the string, replace spool, spring, bump feed, and you are good to go. I hope this has helped you.

18v cordless string trimmer will not stop feeding line

Some of the trimmers recommend a certain size line, if you have one of these that let line out as needed, the speed at which the trimmer cuts will let out line as needed. If you have too small of line the drag for the friction let-out you will spoll all the line out. Make sure the line is the right size, They come in alot of sizes, anywhere from .060" to .125" line thickness so make sure you have the right size line!

Ryobi Trimmer

To install string in the Ryobi you do not have to disassemble anything: Line up the two arrows on the inner and outer reel, remove any excess string, cut two pieces of string about 10 feet, feed line in the side holes, secure line in hole where it comes out the bottom (it only takes about 1/4in. to do so), pull strings tight, then turn the inner reel counter clockwise to wind it. If it sticks a little just pull line a little.
To remove the inner spool in order to remove line that has broken inside, to clean the mechanism, or to perform other maintenance, grasp the outer reel and unscrew the bump knob counter-clockwise. Mine is often very tight and requires pliers to get enough leverage. While you are in there, clean the inner reel and the inside of the outer reel to improve feed performance. The shaft rarely needs cleaning. Do not lubricate. After re-installing the reel, add string (0.080") as described above.
