Hi,

I'm not sure what operating system you have on your acer aspire L100 so I will post links for the new software/updates for your Aspire L100 for both Windows XP and Windows Vista.

The first thing I would recommend you do is update your BIOS. Below is a link to the BIOS update file for your L100 directly from the Acer support website:

http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/BIOS/BIOS/BIOS_R03-B0.zip?acerid=633643842964028005&Step1=Desktop&Step2=Aspire&Step3=Aspire%20L100&OS=V08&LC=en&BC=Acer&SC=PA_7

After you update the BIOS, your system should be able to boot back up, then you can try installing the VGA Drivers again. Below is a list of links to the new VGA drivers for your L100. Be sure to download the one for your operating system.

Windows XP 32 bit (x86):

http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Driver/VGA/VGA_NVIDIA_8.2.0.5_Xpx86.zip?acerid=633645069231232078&Step1=Desktop&Step2=Aspire&Step3=Aspire%20L100&OS=X02&LC=en&BC=Acer&SC=PA_7

Windows Vista 32 bit (x86):

http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Driver/VGA/VGA_NVIDIA_7.15.11.0170_Vistax86.zip?acerid=633645069126087404&Step1=Desktop&Step2=Aspire&Step3=Aspire%20L100&OS=V02&LC=en&BC=Acer&SC=PA_7

The above listed files are the newest ones directly from the Acer support website for your Acer Aspire L100.

You can find Acer's downloads section on Acer's support website here:

http://support.acer.com/us/en/drivers_download.aspx

I hope this helps!

Best Regards,

James

Hi

thank you for your query

Please can you try the following

1) go to www.devicedoctor.com
2) Download and install the device doctor software
3) Once installed open it up and click scan, it will then scan your PC for the best driver
4) Download the driver (entitled VGA driver) and install
5) Restart and see if this cured the issue

Regards
Shauqat

Computer wont start acer aspire L-100

CPU overheated? When you cool it down it will start. You can check whether there are lots of dust on the CPU fan and the chase of the machine, they might block the air flow and overheat the CPU.

Power but no display acer aspire L100

Try these sequence(you need another one good computer to test and interchange component and you will find out the problem):
- check your RAM, if you use two RAM start computer using one and interchange it to find out which one is bad
- if your RAM OK, check your VGA
- if your RAM and VGA OK, try to check your power supply, sometimes defective PS cannot supply sufficient power to all component to work.

hope this will help you.

I own a acer aspire L100

You have a PCI slot in the computer. If it's available, you can get a 256MB or 512MB PCI video card. Anything you get would be an improvement to the internal card you have. Just familiarize yourself with your monitor's inputs - DVI (the white connector) or VGA (the blue connector).

Here are some options:

Go back to Acer.com. The driver you want is the one that say's (Power 1000 chipset driver) that is if it's an integrated Network card. If it's not integrated then I would need the name on the card. Hope this helps.

Graphics upgrade

As long as you have a open vga, vga e, or pci slot in your computer you should be able to install a new video card. the Acer website says your motherboard supports up two gigs of ram, I am not sure how much ram you are running but if it is under 1 gig I would consider upgrading that also. as far as a graphics card goes get one that has at least 512 mb of its own ram so it dosent pull from your system ram as I am sure your current on-board card is doing. Another couple of hints are: if you are running Windows Vista you they call for 1 gig ram for optimal performance, also it is very important that you un-install any graphics drivers before you install new ones, and when you install the new card read the instructions completely before you do anything.
hope this helps
