Hi, For DVD ROM try to use another working CD on the same DVD rom if they are working then CD are not working but if those CD/DVDs are working on another computer then it is DVD drive issue. It needs to be changed. First check the ODD is getting detected in device manager or not. Also try removing upper filter and lower filter from registry. Use below link to know the steps and then check. Microsoft Fix it. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&docname=c00678214 For Internal Speaker- If sound is coming from headphone and not from the internal speaker try these steps. 1. Click Start > Control Panel , and then click Hardware and Sound . 2. Click Sound and then select Speakers and Dual Headphones . 3. Click Set Default and then click OK . If still not working then sound board which is on the motherboard is not working. Then it?s a purely hardware issue and you need to replace the motherboard. I hope this will be helpful.

Two possible scenarios have occurred here. I believe both have to do with your motherboard. Since your problem is intermittent and teh system WILL BOOT..it sounds like the soldering on the board has come loose at a connection point. The most common cause of this is picking up laptop by corner and an item called FLEXING. this is when the laptop bends under its own weight and this can either damage or destroy a motherboard. Ive seen lots of people pick up laptops from one corner and this occur. Since these Motherboards require MICRO soldering its not a fixable problem by your local home repair soldering gun... I would recommend a local repair shop for computers and let them reset the CMOS and try and reload a BIOS and start from scratch. If you have data on the hard drive you dont have backed up it is lost at this point due to recovery effort. The average cost for a diagnosis of the issue will be about $85... if they can Microsolder then expect about $200 IF THE PROBLEM CAN BE FOUND.. Lots of solder points. Two other things to google woudl be HP and NVIDIA problem (some graphics cards from NVIDIA are bad and cause laptop failure and are documented on google) Also check MAX1987 Heat chip issue... this is a soldering issue too..but may be part of the issue.

Marantz SR 3001 won't turn on

Check for shorted speaker wires - if none found, disconnect speaker / select headphones and see if you hear music thru the headphones. If not - you may have burnt out power transistors, etc.

2005 dodge caravan, factory dvd... no sound through speakers

My grandcarvan sxt came with a remote for the DVD system and wireless headphones from KOSS. You have to press the headphone button on the remote to change it to headphones otherwise it comes through the main system. With the button pressed we can listen to cd or radio in front while they wear the headphones in back. You might need the remote to change it back to main system. The headphones from Koss are lifetime guaranty and not too expensive.

But if you manage to open the DVD ROM clean the dust in it & it will start working again but be careful remember that no power should be attached to ROM.
or you can buy a lens cleaner from market and try that.

Check the headphone ports to make sure the port is functioning.

Insert and remove a headphone plug into the headphone jacks to mkake sure the headphone jack isn't stuck and cutting off the audio tot he speakers.

If you have no audio from the speakers or from the headphones, open the setup menu and navigate to SOUND or AUDIO and make sure you are set to PCM audio and not RAW.

If none of these solutions help, you have a problem with the player that is electrical and not easily repaired.

Pioneer DVR-109 DVD±RW...

This ahs to with speed of recording of the CD/DVD try reading CD/DVD burnt at a lower speed like 16x.

Most DVD writers has low maximum reading speed as compared to CD-ROMs.

You can try burning a CD on it and then reading it, if reads then it shows that other cd were burnt at faster speed than it can read.

If it read lower speed CDs then you can just add an additional DVD/CD-ROM just to read faster speed disks.
