If these blemishes look like maybe its fuzz or something, you can remove the top cover and use compressed or canned air to blow out the area where you see 3 orange flat cables going under the main board into the lcd panels. blow it out good and be careful not to disconnect the cables as that can be a pain for the inexperienced. If this doesn't fix your problem, then I would say that the lcd panels have been burnt due to shutting the projector down improperly numerous times and no it is not worth repairing unless you get a known good light engine for less than the cost of a new projector plus labor-- unless you DYS.

I have a large yellow blotch in the middle of the screen that will not go away. What do I do?

Sorry, your lcd on the Blue has burned, spare parts mean replacing the main optic combiner and lcd module that is more expensive than the projector is worth. it is dead, I have several similarly dead units.

Hi there, my dell projector 1800mp is not projecting an image on screen and it only black lines across. what should I do to fix it?.

After turning on the projector, press "+" and "-" buttons on the control panel

simultaneously for 3 seconds and release the buttons when screen goes blank.

2 Press "+" and "-" buttons again to exit the diagnostic mode.

3While in Self-diagnostic mode, the screen will run a seven-color-cycle test as

following:

Red--> Green--> Blue--> White--> Watchet Blue--> Dark Green--> Yellow.

Ensure that the colors of the test pattern are correct. Contact Dell if the colors are
not displayed correctly.

Infocus DP8400x blue hazey line

this discoloration is the begining of the lcd panel being thermal damaged. this happens when the projector is being used for a long period of time and then being shut off using the switch on the rear of the projector instead of the on/off on top or the remote. to fix it it will have to be replaced. very expensive major repair.

Yellow green display

you may have a bad cable. if it was an internal problem, the menu wouldn't be the correct color. you may also want to reset the settings to factory default, just to cover the resolution issue.

Color wheel disc is broken and not repairable, problem is unless you know someone that can get the part you have to take your projector to an authorised service centre.

Color wheel for a 4805

I've encountered this same issue. I had a large Yellow Line down the left side of the screen for a few months. It got bigger and bigger, then one day I was using it and Bam! What sounded like a fire cracker was my color wheel exploding. I also had the rubbing sound, or at least something similar to that sound prior to the explosion. InFocus quoted me about $300 to fix..

Yellow area in the projected image

Hello Media Man,

Looks like your projector has done it. Thats acommon trouble to ageing polirising lens, usually the blue. less blue, the green and red make up the yellowish image on the screen. The blue is bombarded with tremendous heat from the lamp and it fade and wash out. If its free, its worth replacing. Get quote for the poliriser; 2 pieces each color.
Good Luck.

VT45 Projector: Blue pixels throughout screen

If the problem is what I describe as a blue haze over the entire image projected, I was told this is a defect in the cable - we have a Dell Video Projector 2300 - and it takes only a dell VGA cable.

So, the problem is in the cable - solution is replace cable.
