Dewalt has service centers and parts sales, you'd think they'd be eager to post manuals on their webiste. Service centers are probably only place to get parts.

Nobody wants to help with this. For some reason it's a big secret.

Dewalt d55146 wont start

Not that I am aware of. The cord should go into a control box where the on off switch is. The motor wires come from that to the motor. I would check the switch box and more importantly the cover. The cover contains the plastic knob that turns the switch on and off. If the knob gets messed up it may not work correctly. The cover is available by itself. Here is a diagram with the part numbers.

NO OUTLET POWER

There can be several causes for this symptom. Does the outlet have a breaker or "switch" that is tripped? If this is a GFI (ground fault circuit interrupter) outlet, first disconnect any cord or equipment plugged into the outlet, then press the "reset" button in the middle of the receptacle. The GFI's should not/will not reset with anything plugged in. (If they are working correctly.) More specific information needed if this does not take care of the problem. There are numerous other things which could be causing this problem, loose conections, bad generator, broken or damaged wires on the electrical system, inverter problems, etc. Refer to your owners manual if at all possible, take a look here at this link if you don't have a copy.<<< http://servicenet.dewalt.com/Products/Detail?isId=true&productNumber=DG6000&selectedType=6326# >>>>

I have a dewalt drill model #dcd970 where the brake is not working. What could be the problem? And how can I fix this?

you would need to replace the switch, the brake is internal. BEFORE removing the switch make a wiring diagram to help in reassembly and make sure the wires don't touch the motor. The switch is polarity sensitive. You can either get one from dewaltservicenet.com or ereplacementparts.com, you can also try and locate a service center or authorized repair in your area at the Dewalt site. DG6000 voltage output at idle = 96v, no load. Wont keep up under load.Where can I get info for setting the generator output

This sounds like you have a Vacuum leak.

Take a look at this link:

http://www.ereplacementparts.com/dewalt-dg6000-type-generator-parts-c-1009_4009_4011.html#question_5469

Diagram "D"

It looks like the auto throttle is controlled by a vacuum system. I would look there first. My guess is that the vacuum hose, item #580 on page D of the parts diagram, is either disconnected or has been damaged. If the vacuum hose is OK you will need to work your way through the vacuum assembly and inspect each part. The parts I would suspect are the check valve, item #564, and the diaphragm, part #560.

The vacuum hose is part #285804-16, the check valve is part #285804-01 and the diaphragm is part #285803-97. All of these parts are available from http://www.ereplacementparts.com.

I suspect that the vacuum line given the location may have a hole in it.

If replacing the vacuum line (Get it from any auto parts store in bulk and cut to length) does not correct your problem repost here and I will discuss setting the output.

Thanks for using FixYa!
