Go here http://gd.panam.acer.com/home/ and take a look at the manual for the aspire notebook 5630 (should be similar to yours)

On page 39 theres a diagram showing the base. You basically have to unscrew the memory compartment cover , remove the cover then slot the memory in and put the cover back. RAM upgrades are really easy!

there are 2 door on the back of your laptop (Aspire 5580).
1 is for harddrive, and the other one is for memory+wireless cards.
just open the screw + the cover and you can see the hdd and memory.

Below the Notebook There will be access flap to put the ram. May even you need to Keyboard for few models.
