Did you check for spark when the plug was out? It should be blue and snappy. If not, you need to expose the flywheel assembly by removing the left case cover, then remove the stop switch wire from the ignition module. If now sparks, check the stop switch and connecting wire for grounding. If still no spark, replace the ignition module. Use a thin businees card for a gap gauge--turn the magnets under the module, insert the card into the gaps, then loosen the mounting screws and let the module stick to the magnets. Tighten the screws and rotate the flywheel to remove the card, then turn the flywheel one full rotation and check that the gap doesn't close up at any point. If the original test had good spark, then pour some fuel mix into the plug hole and attempt start--if you get several pops, then check the fuel system. Start with checking the fuel filter which will commonly plug up over time and check the fuel lines for decay or damage. Does the primer button pull fuel into it when pumped several times? Go to: http://www.drystacked.com for a 12 page article on Walbro brand carburetor theory and trouble shooting. Note carefully the items within the lower chamber as they are critical to proper running. Hope this helps!

I have a old homelite that won't start new plug fresh gas no spark

Most of the time on older engines, the carb needs to be rebuilt or replaced. Dont panic rebuilding is cheap an easy. The ports get clogged up sitting an varnish up. Try to clean out all orifices with small pieces of wire from steel or brass brush. Use carb cleaner to clean replace all gaskets an parts with kit. Dont forget to check fuel hose in tank they go bad often an should be replaced when carb work is done. Fresh gas an it should work

The motor won't start

Older Homelite's love fresh fuel. Mix up a fresh batch of gas with the recommended oil ratio. Dump out the old gas into an approved container. Remove the spark plug for inspection and make sure that you are getting a good spark. If you are getting a good spark replace the plug and pour some fresh gas mixture in to the tank and follow the manufacturer's starting instructions. Generally they have a primer bulb press that in 5-6 times until it gets firm. Engage the choke and pull on the rope until it attempts to start. Turn the choke off and it should start right up.
If you did not have a spark on inspection replace the plug and repeat the process.

My chainsaw will not start

You need to do some basic tests, start by draining the fuel tank and refill with fresh fuel oil, pull the fuel hose out of the tank and fit a new fuel filter, remove the spark plug and check to see if you have a spark, if you have a spark and the plug is soaked in fuel, leave the plug out and let the machine dry out for a few hours and try re starting with no choke.

What is the mix for my Homelite 16" 33cc chainsaw?

50:1 is the fuel to oil ratio. Never use petroleum oil (engine or boat motor oil). Always use a synthetic saw oil available from home centers, hardware stores and saw dealers. The bottles are usually graduated to various ratios for a gallon of fresh gas. Always premix in it's own container and shake the container thoroughly each time just before filling the tank to prevent oil starvation. Be sure to use bar/chain oil for the chain as well, and keep the chain sharp and well adjusted. Hope this helps!

What is the oil to gas ratio for a homelite zr 10926 16 chain saw

This is a current Homelite product although not your saw. This clearly recommends 50:1 as do I. I find no OM for your saw, a "Ranger 33cc 16" Chain Saw UT-10926"
http://www.homelite.com/product_manual/file_url/66/UT10540_60_80_QSG.pdf
Dolmar, Echo, Efco, Homelite, Husqvarna, Jonsered, Makita, Oleo-Mac, Red Max, Ryobi, Shindaiwa, Solo, Spear & Jackson, Stihl & Tanaka; all recommend 50:1 and have for a number of years.
1 gallon of premium fuel to 2.6 ounces of quality 2-cycle oil.
4 liters of premium fuel to 80 milliliters of quality 2-cycle oil.

I suggest you contact Homelite and request an OM for your saw.
Homelite/Ryobi.com (Contact Us)

Please ask they prove a link to a site where ALL homelite product OMs may be accessed.

If you have more questions or need additional help please reply below and I will get back to you. HTH & Good Luck.

Chainsaw cuts out

  1. Clean the air filter.
  2. Drain the tank and refill with fresh fuel mix.
  3. Replace fuel filter and Inspect fuel lines for cracks.
If 1 – 3 don’t fix the problem, spend $40 for a tune & repair up at your friendly neighbor hood chainsaw shop. HTH
