Question about Numark iDJ2 - DJ iPOD Mixer Docking Station

The crossfader won't gradually fade from deck to deck.

The crossfader doesn't seem to fade from deck to deck as I slide it across. Instead, it goes from one deck all the way to the other as soon as i move it a little bit. How do I fix so that it actually "fades" from deck to deck?

In the front of the IDJ2 system there should be a switch labeled "CF Slope." Switch it downward and you should be good.

HOw do you use the crossfader if all your music is coming through one port???

The crossfader is to gently fade from one source to another. If you only have one, the crosfader isn't useful... it would act like a plain fader with one side being dead and the other at full volume.

Picture clarity degrading

Hello there,

If the picture clarity of your television is gradually degrading, it simply means the lamp of your television is gradually coming of age and will soon be in need of replacement. That is how it starts, then the picture gradually fades out and then completely goes blank.

You can get a replacement lamp so when it goes out you will be able to replace it.

Thank you for using fixya.

I have a Image 15.0 R treadmill. It skips and I tried tightening the belt 1/4 turn as directed and not over tighten it. Still skips and actually squeaks now especially when running on the treadmill at 6...

3 different possibilities in my opinion:

belt is too loose, belt is too tight, belt is worn out.

Try to lift the belt and get your hand under it in the middle of the deck. If you cannot reach, it is possible that your belt is too tight. Another clue for this would be the belt "curling" on both sides at the edges. Try to loosen the belt, gradually and testing it along the way.

If on the contrary you can easily slide your hand under the belt from one side to the other, it is more likely that the belt is too loose. The squeaking might be due to the belt not being "square" on the deck. Try to loosen it even more until you can slide it with your hands across the deck. And have it aligned evenly at the front and back. Then retighten and adjust the tracking at low speed.
!!! Do not over loosen as the bolts might come out of the back roller.

A worn out belt might squeak and skip when its old.

Turntable Crackling

sounds to me like your fader has popped! lube contact spray will not solve the problem, it will only clear it up for a few passes if any! PCV faders have covers inside which stop any lube getting right on the contacts! but in my experience as a scratch dj for 11 years is that contact spray only make the problem worse over time! best shot from here is to replace the fader, or get a mixer with optical/contactless fader i suggest a mixer with the 'eternal' fader i.e. ecler 360/80hak. hope this helps

Whats a crossfader

The cross fader switches the source from one input to the other input. D.J.'s use them to fade from one song into the next one they are going to play when using 2 different turntables or 2 different cd players..

You did say in your question that you needed a crossfader.

Hope this helps Brittany.
