LCD screen goes out when the slider is open

Screen double up on menu & goes black after a few minutes when slider is open. Open up the top face cover & the cable tape of LCD is firmly seated. Do i need a new LCD screen or the other end of the cable tape that plug in to the bottom half of housing is loose? Does anyone know how to access the lcd wire that goes to the bottom half (no. keys)? Thanx! RT
