This is a typical setup configuration for US countries; the distance between 2 radiostations is 0.2MHz. If you live outside US it is usefull trying to tune at 87.6MHz because there is no station at that frequency. In case you live outside US try to locate a setting at the tune mode section refered as European countries or Asia countries. At these settings the frequency step is smaller. I'll try to locate a user manual in case you don't have one, in order to give you more detailed steps.

Here is the way you can change the frequency step at your Makita radio:

It's a print screen of the user manual (page 8). I can't send you the whole manual because it's half eated (!!!!!) by my dog (although he likes radio listening).

Hi i recently bought a cobra 29 ltd chrome cb radio for my car,i also installed a new antenna ,i have a strong signal, but i am unable to hear conversations because the sound is distorted. It sounds like...

You can't tune the radio. You are supposed to tune the antenna.

I have a page for tuning your antenna. This can cause some distortion, but it shouldn't be that bad. Go here for how to tune your antenna.

also the internal speakers aren't that great. Try an external. I can't just use an internal because an external is so much better.

Something else to consider. There is a lot of skip right now. Skip is when the ionosphere becomes charge by solar flairs, and causes radio signals to skip across it, making them travel hundreds and even thousands of miles. There are some cb operators out there who run a lot of power. 10k watts and up, who just talk skip all day. A lot of those guys sound extremely distorted and over modulated. You may be hearing these guys out there. Its their radio's not your receive.

Also. People who are close to you, may over load the front of the radio in the receive section, which will make it sound distorted.

Hello george_nutti,

The model number you posted is for a center channel speaker which has no controls, and not knowing the exact model number it's difficult to be specific.

Some Kenwood KDC models allow you to select one of 3 "tuning modes", 1) AUTO1 - Automatic search for stations; 2) AUTO2 - Search Preset stations; 3) MANUAL - Normal manual tuning control. If your Kenwood is one of these models, you need to set the tuning mode to MANUAL. For Kenwood Excelon HD receivers, direct access tuning is done by using the included remote. 1) Press DIRECT button on the remote; 2) Press number buttons to enter desired channel number; 3) Press DIRECT button again to exit direct tuning.

Hope this helps.

Ensure the radio/AUX/Ipod is off (hold down the power button)

Press & hold MODE until 12:H flashed. Use the TUNE/SKIP buttons to make your selection

Press MODE again to see the hours flash and again use the TUNE/SKIP buttons to set the hour

Press MODE again to see the minutes flash and use the TUNE/SKIP buttons to set the minutes.

Press MODE again and you are finished.

To set the alarm: Press and hold the ALARM button until the time flashes and then use the TUNE/SKIP buttons to adjust.
