Question about Vector VEC414S MICROSLIM POWER INVERTER
Normally, when I use my vector imobile vec414s power inverter in my vehicle cigarette lighter, the power light is green and it charges whatever I have plugged into it. Now instead of green, the power light is red and it does not charge my unit. I do not have the original manual in order to look up this problem.
This is a classic symptom of the Output transistors "Blowing" this is very common with inverters. Especially smaller ones. You could no doubt repair this item, however I am pretty sure that it would end up an uneconomic repair, by the time you repaired it you may as well have bought a new one, The cost of the transistors will be around $75.00, just for those alone. In my opinion it would be best to put any money into another unit. Also this time get a larger output device, this will allow more "Headroom" and this will, ensure longevity, of the inverter.
