If you are using the KX-T7730 phone with a Panasonic KX-Txx 308/616/824 system. From the Switcboard / Main telephone ( ext 101, 10 or 9 ) with the handset on the cradle press Program * # followed by the system password ( default is 1234). Now press 000 and then Sp-Phone.Enter the year and then scroll to the month with the right scroll key (located at the right bottom corner of the phone). To change the month use the AUTO ANS / MUTE button. Now scroll right again and change the date and day. To change the day again use the AUTO ANS / MUTE button. Now scroll right again and the time will appear. Set the time. To change am/pm scroll to it and again use the AUTO ANS / MUTE button. Press Program to exit program mode and you are done.

If you truly have music, it comes from a box plugged into the cabinet. The unit could be made by several manufacturers, or could be a CD player. If the talent is music with alternating male and female voices saying "thank you for holding we appreciate your business", etc. then it's probably an OHP-6000 that comes with Message software. http://www.onholdstore.com/software.html
If you have "tones" on hold, then you need to acquire a music on hold box and make a couple of programming changes to set it up. MOH boxes and messages can be found by search engine. The keywords on hold music will get you 19 million hits.

That's a good thing, because I'm guessing you have not plugged the phone into a Panasonic system. It requires 2 pairs of wires from the system to the jack.
When you do, it will light up and the system programming can be performed to make it work. Panasonic systems come in all sizes, ranging from 3 lines and 8 phones to 60 lines and hundreds of phones.
Typically, the TA-824 in the U.S. has a street price of about $250. *Bay has prior issue cabinets for less...a TD-308 or a 30810 system will sell for prices in the $125 range. If you're looking for CallerID, then you need to find a complete TD-308, or a TA series system that has the CID board.
