Question about LG 42PG20 42 in. Plasma HDTV
Sat. remote will not work tv also the remote that comes with my tv will nolonger work the only way to control any of the tv functions is manually on the unit itself.
thanks for any help
Check the battery of the remote control and replace the battery, if otherwise it didn't work on your television,
you need to lg service in your area. they will get the part for you.should not cost to much
Assuming that you have no problems with your remote controls, try the following: use an air-can and dust the multiple component input/output slots everywhere on the TV itself. If this doesn't solve the problem, connect standard 1/8" headphones into the remote control OR the headphones jack on the TV. Then unplug the TV for a minute. Plug it back in, turn it on, and see what happens. Hope this helps,..

Hello walker3putt, my name is Michael Hurst with DISH Network. Is this remote an IR or UHF? There are ways of reprogramming the remote to the receiver. If this is and IR remote for an independent receiver then you can try pulling the smartcard out and System Information will come up on the TV. Look at the Remote Address on the TV and write down the number. Then Hold Sat until all lights on top of remote light up. Let go of the Sat button and pick a number from 1-15 and then press # and Record. Your remote address should change. If there isn't a smartcard in the receiver then try the menu button on the front of the receiver. If this is a secondary remote and is UHF you will have to take remote 2 to the room where the receiver is located and follow the same steps.
