Question about HP OfficeJet Pro K8600 Printer

3 Answers

Im using the K8600 with a double sided printing module and when I try to print a document with first two page portrait and the last two landscape it prints page 3 one half on one side and the other half on the other side of the page. I have tried problem solving: 1. printing page 3 only, 2. printing set to 'flip pages up' 3. printing on page 3 and 4 and this problem doesn't occur only when it is on the normal double sided printing option.

The issue with double sided is that it prints from 2 in 2 pages..and when you select the other 2 in landscape ..it prints only on the high of landscape page ..
leave it in normal portrait and print all the pages you have in portrait..use the 2 side mode only if you have more than 2 pages..and it can print 1.3 5 7 first ..after that insert the paper again side turned..and print 2.4.6.8
after that select the landscape mode and print the others ..cause otherwise you can not print double sided ..if you only have 2 pages to print on both sides..just print them one by one ..print the first page ..than turn it ..and print the page 2..than select landscape and print 3 and 4 in the same mode..

Im not too sure what you mean, cos if I only print page 2 (portrait) then page 3 (landscape) on the back it has no problems doing so. However when I do all 4 pages (P1,2 Portrait, P3,4 Lanscape) it only has a problem printing page 3.

this is cause you already selected to print the double sided..and when you do that it prints first 1 and 3 ...and the 3 is already selected to be a landscape..and it prints it vertical...but in landscape size..until the middle like it is the width of the page ..it a conflict of settings ..this is why I said print first the pages you need in portrait ...all and after that print the others ..if you need to make multiple copies..just do all the portrait first ..after that all landscapes..do not make selective settings after the number of the page ..cause it is in conflict with the first ones..

I had this problem too ... the fact is that when you choose a certain printing model (double sided, in your case), that setting is usually overwritten by the HP software's settings, therefore generating this problem. You must check that you have the same settings both in Adobe Reader/Word/whatever document reader you are using and the HP software.

Hi, OK that makes sense. By printer settings do you mean the printer document properties?

I need to print landscape orientation on HL 5140 and can't. HELP

I could be more specific if you provide the operating system an application you are running. Without that, all I can tell you is there are up to four places where landscape/portrait selection is made, and one of these is overriding your choice.
In general, these are:
  1. Printer properties. This only sets the default mode, and is overridden by a selection made elsewhere, even if it is the last selection made
  2. File: Print... dialog box settings
  3. File: Page Setup dialog box settings
  4. Format: Document dialog settings - may be in a dialog tab, and does not exist in many applications
In the last three, the correct operation is that the last selection made will be used. Some programs don't follow the rules, so you may have to set all three to make sure your choice sticks (bug in program).

Canon ir3045n - when printing the paper orientation has switched to landscape. How do we change it back to portrait?

Hello Donna,

To change the orientation of the printer from landscape to portrait follow these simple steps;

- open any document and go to print from the file menu
- when the printers settings window opens click 'properties'
- In the next up coming windows you can see menus like 'main, page setup, effects' profiles
maintenance etc.
- click 'page setup'
- There you can see 'page size' and 'orientation'
- change the 'orientation' from landscape to portrait
- click ok and print
Done : )

please rate if this solution was helpful for you, thanks you!

At college we have a w7200, how can we print across the paper rather than down it, for example a panoramic image across the width of the paper and say 20cm high

Try selecting LANDSCAPE as opposed to PORTRAIT by using the proper print menu in your application rather than the simple print icon from most tool-bars.

You can usually find it in the FILE menus

How do you make a double sided copy?

If you don't have a duplexer, the larger cover on the back, the only way to copy this way is to re-feed the print, print side up and copy to the back. The duplexer sticks out of the back about 3 inches, the plain cover is just a flat rear door.

PDF files only print in landscape

Found it! The problem was that Adobe was set to print with page scaling set to Tile. Even though you see the preview as portrait (with page setup AND printer setup also in portrait), for Tile, it prints in landscape.
User said this fixed it.

open your document and click print, then click on the properties button. Then click on the page layout tab and uncheck the collate button.
This wil print each page on a new piece of paper, the collate option is to print on both sides of the paper.
