The hard drive needs to be reinitialized - this will lose anything recorded on it.
With the unit off, hold down Track Edit and Shut Down at the same time while turning on the unit. It will ask "Are you sure?" press enter if you are willing to lose everything on the recorder. Continue through the rest of the prompts.

Hi im joe, I believe your asking on how you can use the USB function of the ED8000 to your pc. If that's the case, yes you can use the USB function but not the way you use it on regular TV where you can see the video and hear the music. First of all, the USB Function of ED8000 is design only for UPLOADING your recorded songs to pc (you must have a recording chip for upload) and NOT DOWNLOADING songs to your mic.
If you want to use ED8000 to your PC like you use it in TV, you must have a TV TUNER CARD installed in your PC. The TV TUNER CARD has a RCA input like in TV where you connect the yellow, red, white jacks of ED8000 cord.
