The fuel in the crank case is caused by bad rings or scratched/worn piston walls it the only way fuel can reach the crankcase unless you pour it in to the oil fill. The fix is to overhaul the engine. Thanks for using FixYa. Have a nice day. Jeff

Crank case is filling up with fuel engine wont start

On pre-electric fuel pumps .. ie. mechanical fuel pumps that were cam-driven, fuel could find its way through a faulty pump/failing gasket into the engine block and oilways ... and end up in the crankcase.

You seem to have the same problem.
You don't say what sort of vehicle you have, however, with carbs that develop a fault, fuel can find its way down past the piston rings and into the crankcase.

Whether your car has a mechanical fuel pump and carburettors, or an electric pump/injection, the fuel finding its way into the crankcase is the problem.

Sort that fuel problem out and your vehicle will start.

I have a 1993 Honda 125cc was told to mix gas but these oil in crankcase do I need to mix?

You would never mix any fuel and oil for the crankcase. If it is a 2-stroke engine, the fuel and 2-stroke oil will need to be mixed before entering the cylinder. Some engines have an automatic mixing setup - those have a separate oil reservoir for 2-stroke oil, but it will usually be a plastic tank, located nowhere near the crankcase. On a "4matic" engine, it fires like a 4 stroke, but there is no crank case, and the fuel needs to be mixed like a 2 stroke. What is the vehicle you are referencing? A dirt bike or street bike? It seems the CR125 and NR125 are both 2 stroke engines, so somehow the fuel needs to be mixed with 2-stroke oil. Can you take a picture of the crankcase oil cap?

1999 mercury villager gas smell in oil

There are a number of possibilities here. Oil that is very old (high mileage) will become hydrocarbon contaminated over time. This can have a gasoline-like smell. There could be a problem with the piston rings allowing fuel the run down the cylinder walls into the crankcase. This can also occur in an engine that has a misfiring cylinder since the fuel is not being burned. Lastly, a leaky fuel injector can be flooding a cylinder, either when running, or after vehicle shutdown and before the fuel pressure bleeds off. This fuel will lay in the cylinder and eventually leaking into the crankcase, contaminating the oil.

IT is likely that the carb is leaking fuel and filling the crankcase with fuel. Causing excessive crankcase pressure forcing oil into airbox through the crankcase vent. Check your crankcase for fuel and/ or being overfilled. If fuel is present fix the carb first, then drain and refill crankcase. After all is fixed run the unit outside for a few minutes and let it burn off excess smoke.

Gas in crankcase

This sounds like it is an older vehicle with a cam driven fuel pump mounted to the block. If so the fuel pump is bad and leaking fuel into the crankcase.

2001 chevy Z24cavalier seems to have to much crankcase pressure at the same time can't get fuel to throttle body even though fuel pump is running is this related if not fuel pump

too much crankcase pressure should be handled by the pvc valve-fuel filter may be clogged-change them and you may be running again -cheers Denny

I have CraftsmanLT1000 lawn tractor, Smokes heavily.

Many times a dirty air filter will cause this on this style of engine. When the filter is plugged, it creates a 'rich' fuel condition, and the engine smokes heavily, the excess carbon is drawn into the air filter, and plugs it even more.

check spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter, choke linkages (for full choke/no choke operation) and crankcase oil.

Crankcase oil can become fuel contaminated, thus overfilling the crankcase and filling the crankcase breather with raw oil/fuel, and this is drawn into the air filter, plugging it, and starting this senerio.

If there is fuel in the crankcase oil, drain completely, and refill with fresh oil. Then you need to look towards the carb for an inlet needle sticking, broken, worn.

How come the gas mixes with the oil then when u drive it it shuts off

it seems to be a fuel related problem. the gas should not be going into the crankcase. It is leaking into the crankcase . The fuel system is somehow leaking into the crankcase because of excessive flooding, or other fuel related problem like a gasket . don't drive the car like that.
