1. First thing to try (least expensive) is to REMOVE the memory stick or sticks and RESEAT them back into their respective slots. Boot up the laptop and check for results.

2. If this does NOT work, remove them again, clean the copper ends with CLEAN pencil eraser.
RESEAT them and check results.

3. Purchase replacement memory sticks/modules.

NOTE: Turn-off your laptop AND unplug A/C adapter. Be careful removing these modules. Touch each module at the corners.

Please advise of results.

try to turn off the laptop. Remove cables and battery then press and hold the power button for 8 secs. Then reinsert the cables and battery on the laptop. Turn on the laptop. Check if the BIOS screen appears. If it is still wont boot to windows, try to restart the pc and repeatedly press F8 to Boot to safe mode. My laptop powers on and I can hear the fan but nothing comes up on the screen...it stays black. What should I do?

Reseat the memory one stick at a time in each slot one at a time. After each reseat turn on the laptop and see if you get video. If after doing each memory stick you don't get video then go ahead and take out the hard drive and then take out the dvd drive.

If after doing this you still don't get video then the motherboard is bad and would need to be replaced.

Fan and power light work but no monitor.

Check your RaM card reseat or clean it with soft eraser only its edge connector both side. If this unit is a laptop then disconnect first the battery and disconnect any other power source to it, before you do cleaning or reseating of the card. This is a memory fault if not try to install spare good RAM.
