Pieces of paper stuck in ADF of Pixma 850

I have some small pieces of paper stuck in the rollers of my ADF on my Pixma MX850 which tore off when I was clearing a paper jam. I have tried tweezers and pliers but no good. Is there a way to remove the feeder to get them? The service place said they would do that but I don't want to pay them if I can do it (and I need it fast!)

Unfortunately the paper already tore. The rollers (and the paper) are behind a plastic strip so I can't get to the rollers to move them manually

is there some way of finding out how to open it? it won't be in the manual...or do I just start undoing screws and hope for the best?? :-(

thank you - I appreciate the help and will get hubby to do it when he gets home so he can't blame me if it breaks....except I jammed the paper so guess it really is my fault! :-S

Open it ..and reset job by pressing the start button and keep it down and remove the paper ..this way will not break ...and also if there are pieces left ..open the cover ..and roll that rolers manually to extract the paper ...After that reset it ..and go for it ..

if the paper pieces are inside ..you will have to open it cause there isn't any other way ..be careful and do not force anything ...look carefully and remove them in order..

there isnt a way to do it ...just take a careful look and see what you will have to remove to be less invasive ..and try to stay on the idea of removing just the minimum necessary ..toget there and pick the paper out ..

How can I fix a paper jam in my Panasonic 4530 ?

look inside the printer, some where in or around where the paper feeds from the area there is a piece of paper that is stuck or has ripped off inside the machine, you going have to look with flashlight follow the feed rollers and you will find paper, paper clip, a staple, dirt, something blocking the rollers or feeder from working right.

1.Connect the phone line cord to the correct port on the MX850 :

2.Disconnect and reconnect power cord to reset the device At the device or at the electrical outlet, disconnect the power cord or adapter. Wait approximately ten seconds and then reconnect the power cord. Wait until the device has completed its cycling process before submitting another job request.
3.Hang up extension phone .

It says my printer has a paper jam but i dont see no paper jamed and i refill it and it says say thing like it would let it go like its going to print then says jamed paper

Try and see if you can locate a small piece of paper that might be causing your printer to jam. Turn the rollers and see if you can see any small pieces of paper stuck in between the rollers.

I have a piece of paper stuck in the ADF rollers. How do I release it without harming the mechanism?

Pull it out carefully. Try to pull in the same direction that the paper moves.
Did you lift the ADF cover, the small one to the top left.
If you can pull the ADF paper tray out, it will give you more room.
If you have a good view of the paper, you might be able to soak it in alcohol to break it up.
Try power cycling the printer. Maybe the rollers will spin enough to kick the paper out.
I've been there before, so I know what you are going through. A pair of pliers might be able to reach and pull.

Mx 850 canon with reoccurring error of 6010 or 6000

if it's 6A00 then theres a problem with the cleaning unit where the printhead parks. Look for any paper scraps in that area, 6000 is a paper feed error saying something may have fallen in stopping the paper transport roller.

We cannot use the ADF on our Canon mx850. From

No. It's not probably not you.
If you have placed the paper between the guides, and snugged them up, it should go (relatively) straight -simple as that.
If not, then likely something is missing, bent, or broken. Return it for a new replacement - that's what warranties are for.

Canon MX850 printer - ADF copy has black line on it

Hello, my name is Steve,.
This is a common problem and an easy fix.
If you lift the ADF / top cover assembly up, you will see a small narrow piece of glass next to the flat-bed glass.

Ths is called a "Slit-glass". The only purpose is to read content from that point by the scanner, The Scanner will sit in the underside of it.

It is dirty. Wipe this with glass cleaner and a soft lint-free cloth. you may need to do this several times. Concentrate the part of the glass were this image problem is just by the orientation of the document you are installing with the direction of the document you are passing through the ADF.

It will take several attempts, but with each try, make a new test from the original document, unyil the problem disappears.

I believe this will solve your problem, Best , Steve

ADF document feed

Hi, The problem seems to be a piece of debris , paper stuck in the ADF roller assy. You can check this by opening up the adf cover and inspecting the paper path. I have seen where a very small peice can cause paper path problems to where something is blocking the paper> Good Luck!
