If you look closley and see if all the pixals are in one line
then the fault is the display itself

Gateway FPD1975W Monitor Vertical lines in the right side of the screen

Open the unit back up and check the cable that goes from the control board to the LCD panel and make sure it is plugged in securely. If this cable is not connected all the way it can cause lines on the display. Also while you are inside the unit check the capacitors on the power supply board. The tops should be flat, if you have any with bulging tops then you need to replace all of the ones on the power supply board. This can also cause display issues if the power supply is not putting out the correct voltages because of bad capacitors.

I would go to the Gateway website (http://www.gateway.com/gw/en/US/content/drivers-downloads) and see if your model has a driver update. Drivers Downloads listed for Vista but it should work for Win7-64 bit.

There's a green line going down vertically on the monitor screen all the time

a resitor line has failed and you cannot fix it, once they fail thats it ,its there for good. Its same as dead pixels on a monitor, except this is a whole line of pixels, if you hit the area above the line hard it will probably go away but will come back sometime, learn to live with it or buy a new monitor.

Montior goes black i turn off the monitor and turn it back on i can do about 2 things and screen goes black again repeat this as many times as i want. Gateway FHX2300 monitor

My monitor has been switching connections on me randomly. Hit the menu button. The one to the left of the power butter when facing the screen. Hit the left arrow twice then hit the menu button again. This will open up the screen where you can choose one of three inputs. I'm going to assume that it is on the incorrect input so use the arrow keys highlight what input you are using and the hit menu button again and your screen should return to normal. Mine only does this randomly when it goes into screen saver, hibernate or sleep. I don't know how to permanently get it to stop doing it though.

It's on the actual monitor. It sounds like the monitor is damaged. Take it in for repair, or sometimes cheaper to just buy a new monitor.

The monitor just goes out. It displays vertical

vertical lines can mean either a connector problem on the lcd itself or on the motherboard connector or a problem with video ram or the chip. Unfortunately none of those are cheap or easy to fix. You can try an external monitor and if that displays normally then the problem is connector or lcd. You can sometimes find a replacement display at fair prices so if that is it then it might be worth fixing. If it is the motherboard then the repair can cost as much as a new replacement laptop.

Green vertical line on LCD screen

Is this on a monitor or on a laptop LCD display?

Most of the time it is due to a hardware issue like a video card or the screen itself.

When does the line appear?
A. Is it there even with the monitor or laptop turned off?
B. Is it there during the OS logo / boot screen or does it appear after the OS loads?
C. If it is a monitor, with your system turned off go into the menu of the monitor by using the buttons on the front. Is the line there?

What you can do to try and fix it is.

1. Make sure you have all the latest drivers for your video card.
2. Change the resolution of the screen.
3. Change the frequency of the monitor.

If these do not fix your issue you may want to look at getting or borrowing a video card and replacing it if this system is a desktop. If this system is a laptop and the above does not fix the issue your best bet would be to put up with it or buy a new laptop to be honest.

Vertical line off centre of monitor

Likely a crack in your cable - try a new cable if possible (or borrow one) - other than that its likely a fault in your monitor.
