It can interfere with cordless phones. It won't with a wired phone.

The cordless phones operate in the same frequency band so sometimes they wil interfer a bit. What will hapeen is the voice or sound quality won;t be as clear or if real bad it will drop calls. The 2.4 and 5.8 ghz phones can have problems with the wifi and the microwave.

The newest Dect 6.0 style phones are designed to be immune from both microwave and wifi interferance. We went through a series of phones at home before we found out about the DECT 6.0 types and all of our problems went away.

Cordless home phone interferes with my dlink do i solve this?

Definitely you will be facing interferences on your router due to cordless phones...
This is because both the devices work under same frequency (2.4Ghz)...
To avoid interference, both the devices has to be placed in a separate room, if it is not possible to place in different room then they need to be separated at least 15ft away from each other...

My laptop keeps dropping the wireless and I am having a hard time resetting - i can't understand why

There could be dozens of reasons for this. One of the most common is interference on a certain channel, often caused by neighbors's routers operating on the same channel. Change the channel on your router and see if things improve. Other sources of interference are 2.4MHz wireless telephones (even when on-hook), microwave ovens, and locating the router too close to a water heater or aquarium. The bad news is that reoccurring drops in wireless signal is also a common symptom of a failing router; you can sometimes diagnose this by unplugging and replugging the router's power cord the next time you experience a drop and see if the connection comes back without doing anything to the laptop.
