Question about Standard (CRT) Televisions

Samsung TMX3298HF: No power, ticking sound

On another bulletin board, I read that you had an e-version of the service manual for this TV or it's family (e.g., TMX2796HFX). I have tracked down part of it, but am missing a crucial element: Part 5: Exploded Views and Parts list. Might you have that?
Thanks,

Jeff

Lg tv ticking

There is some shorted component/s in the circuit board. The short circuit protection circuit detects this short, and shuts down your TV again and again. That is why you hear these 'tick' sounds repeatedly. Contact any experienced service technician to get your TV repaired. The work is skilled one, which need sound knowledge in electronics, and work experience.

Tv will not turn on. fuse blown?

Hi, well NO, it is NOT a fuse, the reason this set has shut down, This is a classic switchmode power supply, which is shutting down the set to avoid a fire, explosion, or both. This set has developed a problem, that is so severe that the set must be shut down, This set should now, be removed from the Power, and in my professional recommendation, you should get a "Quote" for repair, from, an, Approved Service Center, this point is very important for a good result, Always contact, their local, "Head Office" Samsung, in your case. Now, when you get the information you want, from the "Quote" well, then you can decide as to repair of replacement. The reason we want an approved agent, is that way, all the engineers are trained on their own brand sets, they have seen almost all faults, and will get the job done quicker, and for less cost, and usually have original parts on hand, also sometimes, there has been a service bulletin in issued and the repair may be subsided or even free.

SAMSUNG T.V MODEL; CS-29Z40HE This T.V buy on JULY 2007 PROBLEM; No power; total dead; no red led stby; have beep sound...tick...tick...like not enough power when power on (maybe sound come from relay)....

Check the PTC parts, the primary AC power supply board.Disconnect the power supply board, measurement the capacitors and power tranzistors, measurement the output voltage(155V),connect on the output on 60W electric bulb,if it light the power source is ok and the problem in the horizontal driver parts(trafo, power tranzistor...).

My samsung LNT4665 just popped & turned off,

Howdy,
It should only cost $10.00-15.00 yourself for parts and $350.00 if Service Co. does it.
The problem sounds like you have a Power Supply Board problem. The PSB is the center Board (towards left) after you remove the back off the TV. Remove Board from TV with the 6-7 screws. Replace capacitors CM811, CM812, CM817 & CS806; 1000ufd 25volts.

Good Luck, big IRISH.

No picture, then no picture and no sound

if your could hear a slight ticking (tick-tick tick) or whining then some electronic component might have been damaged (shorted). if you have no experience repairing electronic equipments then i suggest you to send your TV to a service station!

No Picture No Sound

I think you have a short somewhere inyour set most likely the horizontal output transistor which may have shorted by the high voltage transformer going bad. The faint ticking sound that you hear is the power supply trying to start but the shorted load won't let it. Stargazer
