Problem with Scanners

Fujitsu ScanSnap S300 PfussMon has stopped working

I am using Vista 32 on a Dell XPS. I tried to install a new Fujitsu ScanSnap S300 which uses proprietary drivers rather than TWAIN or ISIS. While it installed, whenever I tried to access I got the error message: FuSSMon has stopped working. Software I have on this computer includes Norton 360 and Tweak VI. I spent hours with Fujitsu tech support and they even took over the computer. Of course we did the usual Uninstall and reinstall using FTP programs. I do not see this problem discussed online which makes me think it is some conflict on my machine. I have never had a problem before with any installation. My Epson flat bad scanner works with TWAIN. Any thoughts?

    • I've had this issue too.  They told me it's a known driver conflict with Dell laptops with video cameras.  I was told to remove my camera driver to make it work, though it still didn't.   Removing my camera isn't a long term option!

    • I'm right there with you - Fujitsu Scanner (S510) and a Dell Dimension E520 running VISTA. I'd love to know if by now you have found a fix.

    • I am using Windows Vista Home Premium on a Dell 530 Inspiron. I tried to install a Benq 4300u sanner which uses proprietary drivers compatibily with windows XP . I have never had a problem before with any installation using windows XP. How can I do to install my benq scanner 4300u with vista home edition sofware.

Find your specific scansnap product and update it:

A user had a similar issue and I found this update for the scansnap S1500 manager:

http://www.fujitsu.com/global/support/computing/peripheral/scanners/drivers/s1500.html

This occurs with certain Intel dual core processors, so you might be effected accordingly.

Fujitsu has to send you 3 files to replace, keep trying the help line until you get a live person; they will email them to you. call 1-800-626-4686. This problem is not specific to Dell, happens on Compaq too.
