First unplug the unit...VERY IMPORTANT...then there should be 4 screws on the back panel of the unit and 4 on top take them all out and the knobs. then you should have two screws that hold the switch in unless it is a clip in but i believe there are screws. and change one wire at a time so you do not cross wire anything

Sorry You 'll have to remove the dryer to allow access to the washer's inner components. It takes two but the dryer isn't that heavy.

Why does my GE 7 Cycle Dryer makes noise when I turn the start button, but does not run the dryer

The start button just engages it to run. See if the wires are still on it. Turn off your breaker, then back on. If still not working, then replace starter switch.

Hello. I have GE electric dryer DBXR463EG6WW. The starter switch does not work. I am getting power to the dryer. The light goes on when the front door is open, so not a power problem

Starter knob on GE dryer came off. Dryer won't turn on.

If it turns hard, the timer may need replaced. But if you can turn the shaft with a pair of pliers and the dryer works, just get a new knob.

How to disassemble a GE DBXR453EV0WW dryer?

Unplug the dryer.
Remove the screws from the control panel top rear.
Lift the control panel aside.
Pull the top lid forward to remove it.
Reach inside the right and left front corners to remove the screws holding the front panel to the cabinet.
Remove the door switch wires and set the front panel aside.
Your model may or may not have 2 screws holding the top lid down located inside the door opening. Open the door, get down on your knees and look up at the door opening for 2 screws.

My dryer wont start at all...

Did you check the door switch. If it is open (not making contact) the machine will not run. Could be the motor start/run switch which could be stuck with lint (clean it) or worn out ( replace the motor).

NVLR333ETOWB HOTPOINT DRYER EATING CLOTHES

I have the same dryer doing the same thing. Open the door and take the two screws out and lift the top. Remove the two screws that hold the front on. Remove the front. On mine both the plastic parts that stay on the front when it is removed are cracked and needing replaced. I found over 20 buttons that the dryer had pulled off clothes stuck in the front door. I'm sure if it will be cost effective to buy both these parts or not.
