Question about Magellan MapSend WorldWide Basemap (980640) Maps Software

When I launch the Mapsend World wide basemap app I get an error message asking me to insert the CD with the volume Label MSendWW_100d and retry or cancel. Even with CD in the response is the same. The volume label on the CD is correct and dvd drive is operating good. I've also installed the 1.3 patch.

    Tried installing from back up cd, all files appear to be there but can't get past the mapsend autorun file, keeps coming up with warning message.

Is it so that the CD has a lot of scratches?. If so maybe the drive cannot read it properly. Try cleaning the CD with liquid soap and water. Be sure not to create any more scratches on the CD during the process. Wipe it with a soft cotten cloth and dry it THOROUGHLY. Try it again if it still doesnt work then maybe there are too many scratches. To check whether your drive is reading the CD properly copy all the contents of your CD to your hard drive. This will ensure that the drive is able to read every peice of data. If this is working and still you are getting the same error then it is a software problem. Try uninstalling and re installing the application.

    May i suggest that you try installing the software on another pc/laptop to verify that the problem is in your PC or not. It can be any thing a corrupt Windows or an irrelevant registry entry etc. If it turns out fine in the other PC/Laptop then you need to fix your PC most probably by re installing Windows.

    thanks for the suggestions but no still no progress. There are some scrathces on the CD but even copying across the data to the hardrive and running it from there gets me the same result only the location is different.



    I've loaded it onto another pc with the same outcome. Given the price I think I'll just purchase another version and be done with it.

I have this same problem and have not found a solution. Suspect the CD was coded wrong by Magellan. Have tried on 2 XP computers and one running Win 95. All give the same error message before the program starts. The CD came with a SporTrak Map gps from FactoryOutletStore. Magellan has discontinued the unit and no longer supports it.

First try to repair it.
for that open my compute then open the disk and run setup exe then chose repair option then it repairs it.
then you can launch Mapsend .
If still same issue then download revo uninstaller from below link.
Click here
Then install it in computer then run revo then select Mapsend and uninstall remove all reg keys when it ask for remove.
Then reinstall it from disk then it will work fine.

    Thanks for the advice Krish but still no good. I've followed all the steps you recommended but still get the same warning message when the cd is inserted.

Xp-800 cd/dvd printing


The tray is for the DVD or CD itself, not for a label. The printer prints directly on the CD or DVD, you must use ink jet compatible blank disks, the white ones with no printing. You don't need a tray to print the label.

It sounds like your game is installed "compact' which means that the main files for the game are loaded on your computer's hard drive but other files, such as graphics that are only used occasionally, but still needed for game play, remain on the CD. Either insert the game CD in the drive or reinstall the game and look for a prompt asking you to choose between full or compact install, and choose full.

Ciao, mandami una email a casa1111@libero.it altrimenti tramite questa via ci mettiamo fino all'anno prossimo. hai messo una basemap europea sulla SD card? nella directory "Backgroud maps"? se hai fatto così avrebbe dovuto sentirtela. Se in ogni caso metti la basemap europea nella directory USBTRANS della SD card dovrebbe caricartela nella memoria interna del GPS (dopo il caricamento non è più presente nella SD card, per cui se devi ripetere l'operazione devi rimettercela).

GPS freezes up


i know how to fix this. I got mine fixed with this 3rd party application "uploadGPSserial". Uploaded a map basemap which i found on the internet then mapsend works fine.

i know how to fix this. i fixed mine. Use "uploadGPSserial" to upload a basemap which i found on the internet. then u can connect with mapsend.
