Question about Apple iMac G5 Desktop

I have constant fan noise (unless in sleep mode), however, the most annoying problem is that somewhat often (happening more and more) the curser starts to "blip" or begins "blinking" and the page that I am on automatically goes to the bottom. This occurs in photoshop, on line (Yahoo), iTunes, etc.. So, I am suspecting there is an internal problem. Nearly a year ago, under warranty, Apple replaced our hard drive, and perhaps this is associated with the problem.
Thanks for any ideas or help.

Why fan operates in sleep mode Dell OptiPlex 780?

Possibly it is overheating, which would depend on how often it runs, and how fast. During startup, it is normal for a fan to run at high speed, but if it's on constantly in sleep mode, I would look towards an overheating problem. Open it up, check for, and clean any dust around the heatsink / fan, and power supply fan. Also make sure that outside the PC there is plenty of space to allow airflow.

Why does my hard drive make grinding noise in sleep mode?

Hi Lou, that's a good question. In sleep mode there should be absolutly no noise at all as the machine is asleep. If there is a noise then it is not asleep. Also, the chances of a hard drive in a laptop making a grinding noise is pretty slim so it is probably not the HD - if it was you would be having trouble using the Mac. It could be a fan that is still running to cool the machine down. How long does the noise go on for after you put it to sleep?

Constant loud noise when frig turns on/comes from bottom

when the compressor is running unplug the ref. and if you hear the noise coming from the compressor then
a ballance spring may be broken inside the compressor.

The compressor will run normally with a broken spring it will just be annoying when it shuts down.

My fan stays on constantly

If you are talking about the case fan. Their are case fans that the RPM is ajustable, lowering the noise. It also could be that your fan is going out or needs oil. Do a search for veriable speed case fan or, I bought several through Newegg.com

HP color laser 4600dn FAN noise

Yes this is normal. Everytime someone prints, the printer exits power saving mode and the fan will stay on. If you leave it on and don't print to it overnight, the fan would shut off in the mornig. But you probably turn the printer off everynight and are printing all day, so you don't really have to expectthe fan to power down unless its not being used for an long period of time idleing.
