On a gas dryer, the most common cause of a no heat problem is a worn out or weak igniter on the burner assembly. The following link explains a little theory about how these igniters work:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3575727-replacing_an_oven_igniter_on_a_gas_range

I know the link is for a gas range, but the theory of operation and the types of igniters used are the same. You can view a parts illustration of your burner assembly here:

http://pcappliancerepair.com/model-display.php

The igniter is listed as item 4. The part number will depend on the SERIAL NUMBER on your appliance. The two part numbers listed are as follows:

Series 10 - 4391996
Series 60 - 33002789

If your serial number begins with the number "5" or lower, use the first part number.

If your serial number begins with the number "6" or higher, use the second part number.

If the burner assembly does light, but does not stay lit, the problem is usually attributed to weak or faulty gas valve coils. They are listed as items 7 and 8 in the parts list drawing. The part numbers are 694539 and 694540, respectively and are good for ALL versions of your dryer. If the coils are bad , it is recommended that you replace BOTH of them at the same time. Failure to do so can cause premature failure.

Replacement parts (if required) can be purchased at any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

All these sites are reputable and offer great service with competitive pricing, so shop and compare. The first three sites I listed also include helpful exploded view parts diagrams to assist you in locating and properly identifying the parts you need.

Read through the information provided and post back if you have any questions. I hope this is helpful to you.

My gas dryer runs but with no heat

Most likely you need to replace the heating element that ignites the gas.just turn off the gas line unplug the dryer and remove the front cover then you will see on the bottom right there Is a heating element bolted to the gas valve with one single quarter inch bolt. You can either remove it and inspect it for little hairline cracks or check for continuity with a multimeter. If you see a crack or have no continuity replace the ignighet

Gas dryer kenmore elite runs but won't heat

Your ignition unit may be worn out and will need to be replaced. Generally, a heating element comes on and once it reaches a certain temperature, it ignites the gas pilot. Then the heating element cools off because the gas is now burning and producing heat. When this heating element stops working correctly, it will not reach the right temperature to ignite the gas. You'll need to have a professional perform the repair. If the dryer is still under warranty, this might be covered.
Check your owner's manual.

No heat

if it's a gas dryer, it's the thermal fuse. if it's an electric dryer, it's the thermal cut-off located on the heating element housing. good luck bud :)
