Question about Honeywell CT3200 5-2 Day Electronic Programmable Thermostat Heater

Open Question

Honeywell Thermostat CT3200 not responding to buttons. The only buttons it's responding to are FAN ON/AUTO and COOL/HEAT/OFF switches. Pressing the Set Schedule or Set Clock/Day or Wamer/Cooler buttons doesn't do anything. I don't think the battery is out cause there is no Low Battery Indicator on the digital display. Please help!

Replaced the battery but thermostat still isn't responding to buttons. Now the cooling UNIT isn't turning on. Replaced the fuse for the furnace. The UNIT isn't turning on.

SOURCE: Battery Issue

Found the MagicStat 3200 manual online. I just fixed that problem. "If ?bAt Lo? continues to display after replacing the batteries, set the System switch to OFF, insert the batteries backwards, wait for five to ten seconds, and return the batteries to their correct orientation. Then reprogram." Note: The battery connector is very temperamental. If your display is still blank make sure the connecting metal pieces are free of corrosion and both AA batteries are connecting to the metal, especially on the right side. (You can use a small nail file to remove some of the corrosion if necessary.)

sounds like you have 24 v going to the g terminal check that otherwise the fan relay in the furnace is stuck closed or the thermostat is defective

Set the System switch to either Heat or Cool. Press the Hold Temp button. Use the Warmer/Cooler buttons to set temperature. Temps will stay until you either turn off the system switch or press Run Program.  Good luck.

Can't change temp setting. no response from soft touch buttons for warmer/cooler temp. changed batteries but no difference.

if the stat is in auto changeover from heat to cool you might need to lower the heat temperature setting before you can lower the cooling setting, these need to be 2 to 3 degrees apart and the stat will not let you over lap them.

if you have to switch from heat to cool, then tou don't have an automatic thermostat ---- you have a programmable heat and cool thermostat. For cooling mode you have to program in the temperatures you want for the various times of the day and days of the week. If you have a fan selector for auto or on, switch to on and see if the fan works. Let me know the results.

Honeywell Thermostat RTH 7500

Assumed all the wiring are correct,

to change from manual switching from heat to cool, press [system] button ( left ) to go into system setting.

then press and hold the [fan] middle button untill option display 120

use up down button to select option 300 ( Manual/Autochangeover) ,

select 0 for manual, 1 for automatic. ( read caution in page 22 of installation manual )

Good luck
