Beeping tv that doesn't go

Thanks for your help - what is a flyback and is it hard to fix. I can't give you the model number because I don't know what it is. The tv is 3 or 4 years old and is a Telefunken. I took it to the only repair man in town and was told it was probably the picture tube which I thought was strange because of the fact that it now had no sound or standby light.

The flyback is the High Voltage transformer. The piccture tubes will usually make a sharp snapping noise if its arching. the beping is what leads me to believe its High volyage related usually the picture tube when it shorts will shut the set down but wont make it beep. Is this a RCA or phillips TV? Whats the model number and I will try to be more specific for you.

My RCA tv green power button flashes and beeps, then turns off, how do i fix it?

Set for the most part is not one for a do it yourself fix.

Set is prone to some common issues:

Bad or broken solder connections where the Flyback is soldered in and right around it.

Shorted parts up to and including the Flyback on the same board.

Bad High Voltage Splitter block that arcs from back to metal where mounted.

There are more and all you have to do is type that model number with "problems" to read more about this generation of sets.

I have a Sony Wega tv, my problem is that when you turn the TV turns on for like 5 sec. only hear the sound at that point, no picture yet...then it shuts off. The red light on the front pannel...

The 7 blinks usually indicates a high voltage shutdown situation. Without the specific model, I can;t give you details about parts etc. The options are a defective flyback transformer or problem with the voltage regulation circuits. Please update this with the model number and I'll post additional details.

Its no doubt the flyback. But need the model number to be able to give you more suggestions as to the actual problem.

My 60" Philips Magnavox, model 9P6034C103, chassis PTV835

It could be the flyback losing resistace in its windings. What is the chassis number I should have the service manual for it. Phillips/magnavox is hard to cross reference without the actual chassis number.
