Question about Televison & Video
Thanks for your help - what is a flyback and is it hard to fix. I can't give you the model number because I don't know what it is. The tv is 3 or 4 years old and is a Telefunken. I took it to the only repair man in town and was told it was probably the picture tube which I thought was strange because of the fact that it now had no sound or standby light.
The flyback is the High Voltage transformer. The piccture tubes will usually make a sharp snapping noise if its arching. the beping is what leads me to believe its High volyage related usually the picture tube when it shorts will shut the set down but wont make it beep. Is this a RCA or phillips TV? Whats the model number and I will try to be more specific for you.
