Question about McCulloch 2000 Psi Electric Pressure Washer Fhh20a

1 Answer

I have a McCulloch FHH20A electric pressure washer. It has stopped working. When I hook it up and hit the "on" switch, it comes on for a 1/2 second then stops. The long wand that hooks to the handle will not come off, I am thinking that it is clogged up somewhere. What can I do to fix it?

You will need to remove the nozzle on the end of the lance and clean the small jet out.

McCullock Powerwasher FHH18A - All hooked up, but pump won't turn on. Is there another switch/button somewhere?

look for 2 things. 1. the GFCI button on the plug, you may have to press the 'reset' button to turn it on. 2. there may be a reset button on the motor or the unit somewhere this will usually be round, and often red, but maybe black also. hope this helps

I have used the McCulloch (FH180A) three times over the course of two years. On my fourth use the pressure washer just surged on and off and I would get a tiny spray from the gun each time it surged. In...

Sounds like the problem could be low input water flow or pressure. There could be crud on the intake where you hook up the garden hose, there could be some other sort of blockage. Try hooking it up to the hose and pull the trigger (with the power switched off) and wait to see if water comes out the tip. Also look at the tip(s) themselves. sometimes a piece of crud gets into the hose and then clogs the tip.

My McCulloch power washer FHH20A motor froze what do I do

remove spark plug and spray penetrating oil down hole let sit for a day, take small hand held propane torch and heat up outside cylinder wall not to hot. take small punch and insert thru spark plug hole gently tap with hammer while trying to start , this should free piston. do compression test right away to make sure no holes in piston. mine did this after a couple of years sitting.

Can't get soap to feed into system

I have a SIMONIZ S2000 electric. I bought the unit about 8 weeks ago used it once. On the second use yesterday the unit didn't work as well, the pressure seemed only a bit better than hose pressure and soap did not dispense at any pressure. SO.... after much thought I turned the hose/tap pressure down so that I only got about 2-3 GPM instead of the typical 5-6GPM normally coming out of my hose....... it worked! Soap dispenses and spay is way better! It seems that if if the inlet hose pressure is high the pump doesn't work as well... go figure.

Shuts off when high pressure wand is attached

Hi Brian. Welcome to FixYa I am Kelly. This sounds as if the bypass / unloader valve is stuck in place and the pump id dead heading causing the unit to shut off. (There is most likely some corrosion in the unloader / bypassy valve assy / housing. What you can try is pouring at least 3 oz of oil into the water inlet assy and briefly.... like VERY briefly switch the unit on then back off. Then let it sit over night. The next day connect everything for normal use then turn the unit on again briefly. Use a bucket to PURGE the oil that you put through the system by squeezing the wand Power SW Off until the oil purges. Then switch the unit on and rapidly trip the trigger at 0.5 sec intervals or less. If it trips off wait 5 mins and try it again. Do the rapidly tripping the trigger on the wand routine for about 20 seconds. Your forcing the bypass unloader valve to cycle trying to clear out any debris / corrosion.
This works often and well. There are exceptions. Hopefully it will work for you.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Kelly

McCulloch M#FHH18A High Pressure Jet Washer,

On hooking up to a water source and plugging it in to an electrical outlet any attempt to test the unit is unsuccessful to include having the on/off switch in either position. With the switch in the on position pump does not operator. The last time I used the unit was July of last year and prior to storing it I did drained the hose.
