Question about Televison & Video
My television keeps turning itself on and off sporadically do you know what could be the situation? I would rather not pay a repair man $400 to fix my tv.
Loose Connections or Cold solder in the Mains Supply board.

As stated above very often it is a cold solder connection. Look for solder to be shiny and re-heat with fresh solder any connection that looks gray in color. If you have a meter you can try to check continuity between the joint and the next component. Try to shake the component and see if you lose connection (resistance goes from ~ 1ohm to higher level and back, then resolder that connection by removing old solder by reflowing and sucking it with a solder removal tool or solder "wick". Then reheat with fresh solder. Iron and all tools needed available at HW store.
