Question about Goodman CKL24AR24 Air Conditioner

Ice build up around intake?

I say intake lightly, I don't really know. Our air is working 'kinda' but there is ice build up around the incoming water intake (I assume thats what this is) - and there is a small pool of water around the A/C unit.
Hope this makes sense. Please help!

Shut it down and make sure the cooling coil and filters are clean. Ice usually means one of two things
1. dirty filters or coil
2. low gas (freon) charge

Ice maker does not seem to produce ice as fast. Is there a switch to increase/decrease amount?

No. Make sure the condenser coil on the bottom is clean, make sure the cooling fan for the condenser coil is working. Make sure there is enough clearance for air to reach the fan intake. Temperature of incoming water may affect the speed of Ice production if it's warmer.

Why is my 2001 Whirlpool Imperial Series side by side refrigerator frosting up around the ice maker?

Ice makers can do this for several reasons. One is the incoming temp of the water is causing condensation to form and it freezes. Another reason is air leaks from the ice maker door.

Not making ice after changing filter.

Hi and welcome to FixYa I am Kelly.

A new filter can take several cycles of the ice maker to fill the filter up with water before. The average filter is around 30 oz and the average ice maker fill cycle is 3.2 oz. The new filter did not have any water in it. The water in the door has a resercoir so the air in the filter will still make the water work until you get air. Drain abour 3 tall glasses from the water in door. The ice maker should then work properly. The filter filters water for water in door (inside) and the ice maker so if you have water inside the door you should have ice UNLESS one of the inlet water valve solenoids has failed. Also make sure the Freezer door / light switch functions properly. The door switch is supposed to stop water and ice functions with the door open.

I would like to know if it starts making ice.
Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Ice is forming around the ice maker where the ice dispenses through the opening in the door. I have taken out the ice drawer and washed it so that there is no more ice. I have also eliminated the ice...

Check and make sure that the flap that lets the ice out is shutting properly. When warm air enters the freezer door, it condensates then water freezes forming your ice. If this is your problem, they make a kit that replaces it. Good luck...

Ice build up on freezer floor.

Hi, If ice is building in the freezer, you have a defrost drain hole plugged. Unplug the Fridge and then remove the rear panel off the freezer. There you will find ice built up in rain. Remove the ice (hair dryer works best). Once the ice is gone, you need to make sure the drain hole is open all the way. A baisting serringe with hot water works really well.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if I can assist you further. Please rate my answer so I know how I am doing.

Thanks
Vic

Freezer in nice and cold but refridgerator is not

due to lots of moisture in the air or high humidity it creates extra frost in the freezing unit this creates blockage in the air flow once the ice crystals build up. the freezer is what keeps the fridge at the normal temperature if the air flow between the two are blocked in the ducting then the fridge temperature will rise the best way to solve this is to open the freezer take out the 4 screws in the back panel tilt the panel forward and blow it with a blow dryer till the ice chunk has melted its a good idea to use a towel and on the top self of the fridge to obsorb excess water this can be kinda messy. or you can unplug your fridge for about 6 or so hours. good luck hope i helped. :)

Ice build-up around the fan making a noise.

Drain line froze.
Used hair dryer to thaw frozen line, works OK now. 01/07/09
Think the frozen drain line was caused by the light in the refrigerator not shutting off when the door closes, causing excess cooling in the freezer. Poor design on the light shutoff switch, corrected design to make permanent repair

ICE MAKING NOT WORKING ON MY KENMORE SIDE BY SIDE

Hello Heavensentme..
Since you pointed out that you don't have a restriction that limits water flow to your fridge.. then you may have a bad inlet valve that allows that same water to refill the ice tray or.. the switch that senses the ice bin is full is stopping ice from being produced.. The motor that rotates the ice tray may also be defective.. .. If possible,, can you empty your freezer compartment and let it thaw out and then try a fresh start so that you know you don't have any ice build up that is stopping the ice tray motor from rotating or the inlet for water isn't frozen? Otherwise.. they aren't that complicated but you kinda have to know what to look for and what to not touch in order to repair them.. Not sure this helped or not but hope so,,,
Regards
Rick

Ice Maker not working

hi there,

check the inside of the door and incoming water line for any frost build-up.

if you don't have any build up, you may have a fault water valve.
